Portrait of Michael Brown: 'Little kid in a big body'

What an insult to every Gold Star family. Where are the media and celebrities when a real hero sacrifices their life? No where to be found.
At James Foley's memorial Sunday there was only a few hundred and little to no media coverage.
But a felony commiting punk gets this kind of attention. What a world we live in/

Austintown offering reward for information on vandalized ball field

While it stinks that damage was done and had to be repaired, it doesn't sound at all like it was damaged on purpose. An apparently large group of children through adults played in the mud causing the damage. Stupid but not criminal.

Guardsman who killed 2, himself left suicide note

Before the crazy Combat Vet talk starts... Utah NG has already released that he was in a support position (laundry) and was never deployed. But let's just make the headlines on that he was in the Guard. :/

Only American POW in Afghanistan freed today in Taliban exchange

He WAS a deserter. From day one it has been known that he mailed home most of his personal belongings (you don't do that mid-deployment), talked about hiking to China, asked pointed questions to those he served with as to what would happen if he left, and in the middle of the night left the OP with a canteen his journal and none of his military items. Are you aware that 6 Soldiers from his Btln lost their lives during the initial searches for him? That supplies were diverted leaving other areas without? That other OPs were put on a hold status? That re-deployments were delayed? That Keating was overrun during this time (another 8 lives lost) because everything was being diverted to search for him?
All of this has been well known in military circles since it happened, especially in the Infantry companies. The media just chose to gloss over it. Don't believe me? Go read the Rolling Stone article from 2012, 2 years ago. His own parents admitted he had a distorted view, that he sent incendiary email, that he sent home his personal belongings. It was a PREMEDITATED DESERTION and not only is he responsible for those lives already lost, he will be responsible for the lives taken by the 5 very high profile murderers just released for him.

Hagan’s turnabout miffs Kovach, Betras

Can anyone name one thing that Hagan has ever accomplished? Has Hagan ever had a non government job?
Unfortunately, voters tend to mark those names that they recognize. Hence certain people getting elected. Seriously, a degree in dance?
I know Brandon. He's a very promising young man. Intelligent and articulate. The democrat party needs to be nurturing and encouraging young people like this, putting them into leadership roles and mentoring them, the future of the party. Instead, in his first race for public office, he was lied to Hagan showed his true colors again. The problem isn't that Hagan won. The problem is that Hagan said that he would withdraw...oops I forgot to. And he said he would support Kovach... oops I want to see how I'd do in a Senate race. What a complete and total jerk

Champion family doctors testify in suicide case filed against them

It's terrible that he died, but blaming (suing) everyone won't help the family.

A copy of the July 29, 2009, VA letter to Ecker denied him an increase in his disability benefits from the $974 he was already receiving, citing 'over-reporting (of) both mood disturbance and impaired memory difficulty'.

EXACTLY!!! Everyone FAILED this child. The school reports abuse, mom pulls him out of school, no one follows up? Dad doesn't see his child for years? (No one could have kept me from my child!) Neighbors suspect abuse, did anyone follow up? and on and on
All this poor kid wanted was someone, anyone, to rescue him.
