DOCUMENTS HERE | Oakhill documents reveal web of conspiracy

After reading some of these comments I can see why this valley/ area has and continues to have the problems we do. We will NEVER get ahead because so many are willing to close their eyes, turn their backs and ignore the corruption in this area! I 've said for years, we lose so much because we have so many officials with their hands out. It isn't whats good for the valley, it's what's in it for me, FIRST! We, as a community have to take a stand, enough is enough and send a LOUD and CLEAR message.....if you do not produce, you're gone. Plain and simple. This is a large part of how I've voted for years and will continue to vote. This case is a prime example of what this area tolerates!

Golf out to benefit Akron Children’s

I wouldn't give 65 cents to Akron Children's. They don't need it and they've demonstrated unfair treatment of employees!.

Fireworks spook horse at Trumbull fair, injuring deputy

I'm not defending the use of fireworks or questioning the law.... but give me a break, 76 year old deputy? I'm sorry, but he is a liability, period. I respect the fact he wants to work, contribute, etc. I just think he is a little old to be on mounted patrol or wearing a badge. What if this was an all out brawl he was in? I also believe the horse should be better trained for this type of duty. What about other sudden noises? I'm sorry he was hurt, but we all have our limitations. I don't care how "tuff" he thinks he or anyone else thinks he is, at 76 your clock is winding down. In this day and age the lack of respect for law enforcement is detrimental to your well being as it is, without sending out a person almost 20 years past normal retirement for a law enforcement officer!

Holy cow! Many dared to dance to dance band at Covelli show

Next time buy seats on the floor. Dance to your hearts content. You can barely get by trying to go to the restroom, yet dance! You are a jerk!

Authorities warn Valley drug leaders: 'We will get you'

I'm not saying this is a bad thing, BUT, not much was accomplished when I got my citation for a seatbelt violation from OSP working in the city! Frankly, it was a waste of their time and my money.

CCA already pays its fair share

CCA employees 400. Let's talk about the extreme turn over of those employees. How many are "local?" How many have been there, statistically, long term. CCA preys upon depressed areas. They come into a town, hire "anyone" who can pass the background check. Qualified or not. Then proceed to do whatever they want. There is a continuous line of folks coming and going! That speaks volumes of how good a "neighbor" CCA is!

The Strike That Changed The Rules

Ypboy.....unfortunately some of us have gone through experiences with bad management/ supervision that union involvement would have helped tremendously. Until business recognizes that there are times, even when it's rare, that managers/ supervisors do not always walk on water, people will and need union representation. I'm sorry, but I've seen too much "blind" faith in supervisors to ever trust a company's administration.

dawn421

dawn421....all I can comment to is what I went through. I never got unemployment, went through EEOC, attorney(s) and went 18 months with NOTHING! Unfortunately "at will" means they CAN fire you for BS. Unless your civil rights have been violated or you have enough$$ to try and fight, chances are slim.

Terminated and frustrated

Let Home Depot know how you feel! It's about the best he can hope for. Being an "at will" employee in Ohio means you are screwed! No unemployment, no nothing. He was fired. I've have recently been down this road and there is very little to be done. To all of you "anti-union" folks...it's like this...when you have bad management/ supervision, a little union goes a long way. I went through 18 months of hell. Good luck to you Mr. Torres!

Convicted Mahoning County deputy repleased from prison

You have to wonder where Sheriff Wellington's head was back then? Budd was a realatively inexperienced police officer in general. very little time on the job, yet promoted to such a position! Who's really at fault here?
