bullman, u summed up everything that needs to be said!!!! The Liberty program has just been set back by at least 5 years! Coach Bubon is a good person don't get me wrong, but far from being the "best fit" for the program! I hope Marlon coaches another team that Liberty plays and pumps them bad and then looks at that new principal and smiles and winks! But Marlon is a MAN of character and for him to do something like that to whatever of HIS Liberty players will still be there, which will not be many, would be below him!! So coach Marlon, good luck to you in whatever coaching position you will get in the future!
It's a shame what they did to Marlon, just firing him on the spot by the new principal!! Then go figure, she's from Warren Harding and Bubon teaches at Harding but coached at Champion, HHMMM, now I know how Bubon got the job! Not to mention, how is Bubon a "good fit", he went 60-115 and 2-19 this past year, yeh, REALLY "good fit"! Plus, if Bubon wasn't already guaranteed the job, why wasn't it ever posted? It's not how good you are as a coach anymore it's how good you know the boss!
As far as the fight during basketball practice, the story is so far from the truth! The two boy's were freshman boy's who USED to be on the team. Just because they USED to be on the team doesn't mean the fight occured during basketball practice. There was no practice going on at the time for the freashman basketball team! I think the last thing the coach would allow is for another player to knock the teeth out of another player!! And one more thing, it's Evelyn "Veal", not "Beal." Another fine performance at the Vindy!! And "NO" southsidedave, this story is really not that newsworthy but some people must be running out of stories!
I heard He quit his first year after 2 weeks but the district needed him back so he was hired back! He was on the RIF list last year and when he found out, he packed up his stuff and left the last two weeks of school. He did not give a final to any of his kids and never turned in grades. The dustrict needed science teachers this school year and by state law need to call any teacher on a RIF list back to there job when a position opens up, but they never heard from him the whole summer. He has not shown up for the first 12 weeks of school and now they want to terminate him now? It is a shame it has taken this long to do so. Thank goodness he wasn't tenured. What kind of message does this send to other teachers in the district? You can leave your job for 12 weeks and then come back to it...COME ON!!! They mention they have a substitute in his position, from what I have heard the sub is a certified teacher in science and because of all this "dragging of the feet" by the district this teacher cannot be hired full-time because this Amawi is still considered "employed"...INSANE!!! I just hope this certified sub gets the contract him/her deserves. It will be curious to see if they really terminate this guy and hire this certified and qualified sub in his position. But what happens if this Amawi shows up at the board meeting Dec. 8 and explains his situation? He can have his job back? If I were a teacher in the Youngstown City Schools, I think I might take 12 weeks off and then maybe I can return to work. There are teachers "clawing" to find teaching jobs in this area and you have, yet again, Youngstown city schools administration butchering the rep of teachers in the district!
14 Adults walk onto my property to confront my son!! Not 1...14 to "talk"! Then I see my son being pulled off the porch and assulted by 5 of them. Those that have an 18 year old son, think about what you would do? Are you going to come and stand in the doorway and yell, "hey guys, stop beating up my son!!" "Hey I told you stop assulting my son or I'm going to have to come off this porch and you dont want me to!!" Is that what some of you people think Malavasi should of done? 14 males, some of which looked larger than both the son and father, were standing on his front porch. They were going to talk...I didnt know you needed 14 people to talk with 1 other person about an altercation that you may have had with them. Why open the door, call the police and let them send the "kids" home. I do believe the mother called 911 the article stated. How about this scenario...14 males walk onto my property and onto my porch. They grab my son off MY porch that is on MY property. An altercation takes place...now 7 walk off my property, 4 LIMP off my property, and 3 are drug off my property by any of the other 11 left standing. That is how the scenario would of played out on the street I live on no matter whether it was in the city or the burbs. You DO NOT go looking for trouble on someones property because you never know what trouble you may find!! Malvasi has every right to defend himself and his family any means necessary especially if these "kids" got the "u know whats" to walk onto HIS PORCH and do what they did! Regardless of the past troubles or if they were drinking at a party or in the car that "would not move", do not go running to someones house looking to take care of the situation unless that is what you intend to do the civilized way. Why didnt the Lockett "kid" get out of the car when he got punched? He didn't have enough of his friends to help him fight?
