Ohio police officer found dead; suspect in custody

My guess would be that he was free on bond. The article states that he was charged with several offenses, not convicted.

Youngstown leaders say open firing range will undermine downtown revitalization efforts

Hmm....re-read article........open firing range?? Discharging firearms outside in the city is illegal for us....if the police want to practice it should be in an indoor soundproof facility.

Youngstown leaders say open firing range will undermine downtown revitalization efforts

I work on south side..haha, I hear gunfire quite a bit. Is soundproofing the firing facility an option?

Youngstown police investigating robbery at Main Moon restaurant on Belmont Avenue

Yes, I work at a dollar store on the lower end of Market St. We've only been robbed twice in the last 4 years but the theft is rising and I'm thinking it won't be long before that location is closed. Corporate does not want to do much but blame the employees for the losses. We can only do so much, two people working can only see so much between ringing and our store duties. Then if the store is gone people will be complaining again about no stores on that part of town. Too many folks want something for nothing. No work ethic, no morals.

Bad training invalidates 170 Ohio concealed weapons licenses

Well excel, I hope you never get into a situation where you need one and don't have one. I carry, and never had to use it but it did deter a would be criminal a few times. Police and law enforcement carry guns to protect THEMSELVES! not us. Police are reactive, not proactive and rarely does a situation occur that a police officer is right there to help.

UPDATE: Youngstown police have leads in this afternoon's homicide on South Side

This is not a problem that throwing money at can correct. You'd have to have a cop on every street corner. If someone wants to kill another they will find a way. The psyche of people has to change before this kind of crime is gone. It is sad that people have to kill each other. Nobody wins. The familes of both sides will suffer.

Police ID victims of West Side shooting

What does this incident have to do with housing projects? I grew up in the "projects" as have many other people that are decent and hard working. We have jobs and families and have never killed anyone. So are you saying that rich folks from the "burbs" never make unreasonable decisions or kill people? You sir need to avoid stereotyping.

Power restored at YSU, university says

"Students took to social media, complaining about classes in buildings without heat when the temperature is so low." There was a power failure, deal with it. You are all young adults or adults. Put on a coat. If that does not do it then go home. What did you want YSU to do, set fires in the buildings?

Dentist charged in death of patient getting 20 teeth pulled

This is why I'm against having dental procedures like that done in a dentists office. Procedures of that magnitude should be performed in a hospital OR.
