4-year-old East Side boy in critical condition with gunshot wound

What is happening to this city!..Do people just go around shooting at anything...are their NO morals or standards at all?...This place...Youngstown...my former home town is a cesspool of thugs, drugs and zeros...my sympathy to all who call it home.

‘He was a good boy’

I loved growing up in my Youngstown...the y-town of the 60's and 70's...the days when you could walk to your friends houses and come home after dark without fear...the days of WHOT at Idora and Borts pool...Sadly as I got older, I saw the path the city was taking and knew I did not want to raise my son here. I am glad we moved to a rural area, where he was free to have a childhood comporable to mine. I still mourn for my city, and the good people who still live there....to be afraid where you live...I can't imagine anything worse....

YMHA completes $10M renovation of Brier Hill housing

People are just getting tired...Tired of supporting these users...I mean..what possible incentive is there to work...when you get all of this for free..and don't even get me started that they don't even have to take a drug test...to get the benefits...that I HAD to take a drug test..to be able to give them!

YMHA completes $10M renovation of Brier Hill housing

I think if you are on public assistance...that you should not be compensated for more than two children...Go ahead and have more...but the rest are on YOU...think of how much money would be saved...and how many uncared for and neglected children, would be not born, it these welfare queens weren't getting paid for them!!!

Recalling skill, wit of Hanni

To say that someone is an original and one of a kind almost sounds cliche'...Except when it is true. Don L. Hanni was all of this and more. Never forgetting his roots and the hard work it took to achieve his goals, he was everything that was good about Youngstown. With grit, determination, humor, and a healthy dose of chutzpah he can rest in peace after a life well lived and a job well done. He will continue to carry on in the stories told by family and friends--a legacy of memories that will enable the listeners to know him for years to come.
