I was a chaperone on this trip and we do have summer uniforms but the bands are required by the trip committee that planned the parade to wear the uniforms that they have on when the preview video was sent in. I am just thankful we are home and all our kids are ok because this could have turned tragic if not for the quick response of our directors, chaperones,bus drivers and the EMS response units in DC. They actually brought a mobile first aid bus to our location to treat our kids. Thanks to all who helped in this crisis..
To set the record straight the kids were not black and thew ones that started the fight were not from Harding. They were trespassing on school property and deserve to be arrested. Why is it when the students from Harding do something good it goes unnoticed but let something like this happen and the media is all over it.I didn't see the media when our band played for Veterans day downtown last year,when they marched in the Halloween parade,or even when they played with the Packard band a few weeks ago. A few bad apples don't spoil the whole bunch.

8 arrested in melee outside Harding High School
