Canfield school levy bid draws varying views

All this over $8.68 per month? How bout you cut out your cable TV? What's more important, your child's education, or your cable TV? Buy cheaper clothes instead of the name brands. If you want to complain about 9 months of work the teachers do, then lets push for all year school.

Excuse me, music is not extracurricular. Music (band, choir, general music) are co-curricular. That is mandated by the state of Ohio. Sports, like football and basketball, track, baseball, and all others, are extra curricular. So, in a way, I do agree. Make them pay to play football, basketball, sports, and extra curricular subjects. And field trips? How can field trips be an extracurricular class? I never heard of that course being offered.

To all you 6 figure salaries in Canfield, here is a good way to save a few bucks. How about discontinuing your cable. Find a cheaper cell phone deal where there is NO texting. If any of your are pro football fans, instead of buying tickets, use that money for something useful. Think how long football season is, including training camp. Its a few less months than teachers. Pro football players are making millions and working 5-6 months per year. No one seems to care about that. God forbid we mess with that. You people who love to point fingers and criticize are more concerned about your football than the education of your children. There are some things in life worth paying for and education is one of them. And try living well within your means rather than beyond your means. Oh and $800 dollars to bus the band to an away game is a very good price. You tell me how much it should cost? The drivers get paid time and a half, gas prices, and multiply that with the number of busses it takes, I am guessing 4-5 busses? Do you think the football team goes to away games for free? The district pays for them too. So it isn't just the band . . . oops, there I go again, can't mess with football, they are exempt from all this huh? And lastly, no haters are allowed on my comments. I will not be back to read it and if you think I'll be sitting here being offended by what one writes, then you have too much time on your hands and get a life. Use that extra time and spend with your child, educate them since you seem to know all the answers.
