Piercings keep husband of student out of dances

Well. Well. Well. Just to inform some of you who clearly are either close minded or just ignorant, but in today's society more and more "extreme" things have become acceptable.

For example, I began stretching my ears when I was about 20. When I was 21 I joined the Army National Guard, so I had to take my piercings out. Soon after getting out of all my training I was deployed to Iraq. After returning from Iraq I began stretching my ears back out. I am still currently in the National Guard and work for them as a civilian also. When I'm in uniform I take my piercings out, but as a civilian I wear them. My superiors may joke around because they do not understand why I did it, but they know that it does not inhibit my work as a soldier or civilian.

Why do people have to be critics on what a person does to their body or even live their life? Who gives them this right? Who are they to judge? I don't judge people because the things the do, because I know that when it comes down to it everyone does something in their life that is subject to scrutiny.

When I was growing up my parents always told me to be myself, even if they didn't agree with what I did.
