Sinking into the Red

I am the president of boardman firefighters and we have been more than willing to work with the twp and the people of this community. I am sick and tired of trying to defend the dedicated boardman township employees against this fabricated attack against all of the employees and more recently the firefighters. If the trustees want to continue to hide behind the fiscal officer constant change of the financial outlook then hold them accountable. Mr. Leight has been changing the numbers bad to good for too long. We the firefighters have felt betrayed by all even though we want the best for our families and neighbors. Please everyone contact anyone of us and get the facts before voting or forming an opinion on the issues. I give you my word and promise to work for the positive aspects of this community not the negative. I want the best for Boardman im not sure your elected officials feel the same. I have 4 sons who go to school here and love boardman and would not want to live anywhere else including my wife and I. They want less employees and including cutting manning in the police but campaigning we need more police in addidtion cutting manning in the fd and not replacing firefighters who have left and were lay off and blaming firefighters for overtime to staff shortages to keep fire stations open. I urge you to get the facts before forming your opinion. I love this community and proud to serve it as do all the employees in the township. Please go to the meetings and put the elected officials on notice that this will not be tolerated anymore.

Boardman police blind to township’s fiscal collapse

No union in the township has tried to break the bank of the township and it is very disapointing to see that some people have tried over and over again to discredit all the township employees. The facts are clear evey group in the township has had cuts in staff and has made concessions. It is not responsible journalism to take a fact finding report and blast the Police Department. You took one side of the whole negotiation process and formed an opinion. I will say it again as I have many times over every employee in the township wants to continue to provide the best service to our residents. All of us would not have moved to boardman to raise our families and proudly say we work here.

You know who I am and I hope your comments are not ment to attack us. The facts are we do a different job then you and I never have tried to compare our job to yours(Police Officers) to try to say we have too many firefighters on duty is wrong and disrespectfull. Does this also mean that every Full time Fire Department has too many on duty then their police force? In a 24 hour period we have 10 right now and I am sure the twp is ready to try to change that we will be just like the PD fighting for safe staffing for the community and the Firefighters as well as the PD. I would hope you do not think we do nothing and are not needed. I can not understand why any employee or resident would fall for this constant attack on the services we all provide. They continue to pit each dept against each other please do not fall for this it will not help anyone but will cause disharmany and disruption to all of us. Thank you Harry Wolfe
