No Halloween allowed for sex offenders in Girard

I think this specific restriction is absolutely fantastic and obviously the work of some great minds. It is very difficult to 24/7 monitor the behavior of sex offenders especially when there are parents that know a person is an offender and continue to let their children hang around with the person. It happens daily....Hubbard City Councilman Tim O'Hara has stated that he will be bringing this to Hubbard's City Council immediately but unfortunately it will not be ready for this years trick-or-treating. Hubbard's situation is a little different than Girard's, as Hubbard's trick-or-treating has always been during the day light hours. I would hope that parents are aware of their neighborhoods and know where these individuals are living and would not permit their children to approach the houses where these individuals are living. It is the parents responsibility to watch out for the safety of their children and should be monitoring the kids during trick-or-treat and not just letting them approach homes that they are not familiar with by themselves! Hubbard Police department also knows where these individuals live and are always out in full force patrolling the streets diligently watching these individuals....and we have a very active Blockwatch Group forming who WILL report any inappropriate behavior. Kudos to Girard, may every community follow in their footsteps!

Report: Penn State disregarded children's welfare

I don't think that you can make a statement like Paterno was involved in the scandal unless you were there and you lived it. The man did more for that community and College than anyone will ever be able to live up to or beat. If the cover up was anywhere it will be with the President of the College! Paterno took players into his home and taught them what is was to be a man. Turned their lives around and taught them to be responsible adults through a football program that was GREAT! Yes, I feel sorry for what happened to those boys (and I don't know what their home life was at the time they were being sent to see Sandusky) but it was not Paterno that was charged with the abuse. Once I have reported an incident, can I take the law into my own hands? And I am sure Sandusky was very sly about what he did and said in front of the Penn State Staff after he was suspected. It was not Paterno's job to bring down Sandusky. That job is Administration's and the law enforcement agency. Investigate and document what Paterno did for the students (that's why there was such an out pouring of love when he died) in his 40 some years with the College. Sandusky was a sick F--- and the people that are responsible for his actions was Sandusky himself. Why are we not knocking the door down on Sandusky's wife, who obviously knew that her own child was being abused! If anyone is an accomplise, she is and should be charged appropriately!

If I was the parent of any of these children that were abused I would have pursued Sandusky until he paid for what he did and everybody would have known right there and then! Not YEARS LATER. When someone hurts or attempts to hurt my child I am on them right now to see that it won't happen again. So don't lay the blame on someone that can no longer speak for himself. Look at WHAT HE DID DO FOR ALL THOSE KIDS THAT WILL ATTEST THEIR LOVE FOR HIM! RIP JOE PA

Hume stands out among five candidates for Girard judge

Wow, I guess the Vindicator IS the worst paper around...Thought reporters were actually suppose to do research before writing a story...???? Plain and simple the reason Adler had nothing to do with the police chief issue is because the Mayor had already issued the disciplinary action prior to consulting with anybody! And he screwed it up so bad (maybe because he wants Adler to look bad because he is working for Finamore: because he was promised the Magistrates position if Finamore wins) (investigate that). Wouldn't that be twiddle Dee and twiddle dumb for the Girard courts! Check with the Mayor of Warren because that is who Hubbard's Mayor called after he issued the discipline wanting advice on how to fix it. Every employee has a right to due process whether the police chief was in the right or wrong, the Mayor screwed it up and would like to blame it on Adler but never consulted with Adler and when ask what happen that's why he gives the answer “no comment”. The Mayor can't defend what he did!!!! Adler by far is the best candidate hands down by way of experience, integrity and temperament. Dennis Watkins has acknowledged Adler as being the best candidate and who would know better, he deals with all of the candidates every day. The Bar Association, a group of all their peers endorsed Adler. Yeah take a look at the qualifications and experience there is no comparison to Adler. As for new and refreshing.... sounds more like an ATTRACTION than a qualification to me. Underachievers don't hold 3 jobs at once and get recognized by their peers for excellent service. GO ADLER!

Hubbard’s top cop should reveal the details of illness

Seriously folks! Who is ulitmately responsible for the direction and management of the City... dah the Mayor! so all this silly stuff is going on because he can't and doesn't have a clue on how to manage, or any experience in managing a city. Why do you think he didn't run this term because he would never get elected! He wasn't elected in the first place...and the old laws on horn blowing were written way before the Law Director was born! Know what your talking about before you open your pie whole.

Hubbard’s top cop should reveal the details of illness

Look at the Mayor's records he couldn't even figure out how to suspend the police chief. He had to call the mayor of Warren for assistance. He is uneducated and not qualified to perform the job. He would not release public record or let the media know that there was record on file about the police chief, come o reporters what kind of job aree u doing? Ask the City attorney for the truth and you will receive it........alder knows his job but can only do so much when it comes to an uneducated, unexperienced mayor who was appointed and aspires to work under another candidate for judge. Why do you think he is pulling all this crap and bringing attention to the City of Hubbard. If u r truly a reporter u'll get the story straight.

Hubbard honking hassle heats up

Read between the lines people...Once again the media got the story wrong, it is not about enforceing the horn ordinance...Now that the police departement is sitting accross the street watching Krlich's house he can no longer get into his car and "take the law into his own hands" by chasing people and banging on their car windows or chasing them until they lay their motorcycle down. Stand UP and turn the table on him, file POLICE reports for everything he does wrong! This man has been harassing the citizens of Hubbard for years now and as citizens we need to take a stand, Tuesday nights meeting was the beginning... the Mayor can't protect the violator if he is caught committng the crime. CALL THE POLICE and file!

It’s time to end silliness over Hubbard’s top cop

Residents had no say so in "no comment mayor" being put into office and I would certainly hope that someone steps up to the plate in May that can replace the incompetency we currently have.

Hubbard leaders feel personnel problem getting personal

Would the Mayor create a new position for anyone that does not meet the requirements of the job? I doubt it since there have been layoffs in the City. I believe they call it Nepotism...
