So we ban fracking, and keep buying oil from ??? Well, this President told Canada, our biggest oil supplier, "NO PIPELINE!" So they can sell it to China. And Nebraska still pumps it out, but has to ship it by rail. Burlington Northern, by the way. Owned by Warren "tax the rich" Buffett. Wake up Ohio. This could be the greatest growth story in the country. There are rational ways to handle the problems, not the irrational like "Ban everything." Recycling fracking water see LAYN. Safer fracking fluids,Steri-Frac. Get the facts. We get Ohio Taxes and pay for our schools, better government, and a better life style. Frack ON!
Another employer bringing jobs to the Valley. But, hey, just remember to keep the mineral rights. Utica and Marcellus is located below the site. They don't need to give away the royalties.
And it will create additional jobs in OHIO! But I don't understand why Chesapeake isn't partnering with Chart and Kirby Barges to liquify the ethane and NatGas and ship it down the Ohio river from Pittsburg to the Gulf Coast Dow cracker or elsewhere. Barges travel this route everyday, and we don't have to wait 3 to 5 years for the pipes!
How safe is fracking? Are there risks? Well, compared to driving in your car, Iran funding worldwide terrorism, and N. Korea's new dictator, I repeat "Drill, baby, Drill!"
I wonder how many of these commentators have even seen a video of fracking, or know what goes into the water? The 200,000 number assumed the industry would proceed. It seems like so much ignorance and uninformed opinions have stepped to the noisy front that the industry will probably whittle down to less than 20,000 or, like New York, come to a complete halt. I guess you anti-drillers would rather buy from Chavez, the Saudis and Iran!
Government Motors! And what are they building? A Diesel Cruze. Doesn't anyone read the front page headlines? NatGas is in abundance, some say enough here for all of our energy needs for the next 50 to 100 years, and they're building a DIESEL! Check the prices, diesel vs NatGas. Check the environmental impact, diesel vs NatGas, check your intelligence at the door or raise your voice for awareness of the future. Wake 'em up, Kasich.
This is all about energy INDEPENDENCE. We have the proven reserves, a proven technology and a responsible attitude toward the future. Nevertheless, what I don't understand is why a Diesel Cruz? HELLO, Government Motors, NatGas is here in abundance, it's cleaner, cheaper, and more environmentally benign. Someone's not reading the headines. Give me a NatGas auto with CLNE providing the service stations, and I'm good to go. Drill, baby,Drill!
There is no doubt that, if properly managed, the Utica and Marcellis Shale gas can provide America with energy independence for at least the next 100 years. Moreover, in Ohio alone, about 200,000 jobs will be created directly from the activity. As for the fracking-brine waters, Chesapeake is already moving toward complete recycling in conjunction with Layne Christensen. We need to move in this direction, and maintain a problem solving attitude to the future, rather than a NIMBY-obstructionism.
Why the ref waited until he started the game to declare the field unplayable is beyond me. The refs check the field, the goals, the nets, the balls, and even the players before the game begins. If any of those things are not correct or correctable, the game can be cancelled. In soccer, Unplayable usually means the same as Dangerous, and under dangerous conditions, a game shouldn't even start. Sounds like the ref just wanted some newspaper space.
The more important issue is the energy required to heat and circulate the water. Tilapia are a very robust fish, and as for fecal contamination, yes the fish do their doodoo constantly, but if the conversion of the ammonia to nitrates is complete, the discharge, (yes, there still needs to be some discharge,) will have a minimal environmental impact. I think the economics are what has to be really addressed. Also, how many pounds will they produce a week, and who will fillet and package?
