As I remember, Kathy Miller pointed out when she first ran for the office that Boardman Township was using the inheritance tax to balance it's budget and that it had been a big time spender while revenue declined. Miller has served Boardman well while trying to maintain services.
Miller went to other large townships in Ohio, spoke to Trustees and Fiscal officers, and found that inheritance tax receipts were largely budgeted for capital improvemnt projects. You know, things like fixing flood zones. Boardman had been living too close to the edge for too long. Spoiled unions, a township administrator who was twice DUI arrested in a township owned vehicle by Ohio state highway patrolmen and an attitude of, " You can't say THAT !!" lead Boardman to their crisis. Miller was the first to recognize that and to arrest the slide. It appears many people have short memory. Tom Costello was a large part of that irresponsible management.
Too bad.Boardman just lost a dedicated public servant!!! Kathy, let them eat cake.

Replace BO with a real leader, drop EPA regulations, and put smoke in the air and people to work.

The shortfall is $8.7 billion , not $3.2 billion. Ohio received a $5.5 billion one time bailout in the federal Stimulus Package.
Ohio's income is down, very specifically under the Strickland administration as manufacturing jobs flee Ohio. Besides the autoo industry folding under the weight of oppressive governmental regualtions, Governor Strickland allowed National Cash Register (NCR) to relocate to Georgia without entering the fight. It appears his economic development guru is too busy running for the US Senate.

Ohio government is long overdue for a reduce diet on spending. Ohio is the thrid highest taxed state in the union. Spend less, tax less, become more desireable for employers to locate here. It is Economics 102.

To Apollo,Bush is and was the ultimate campaigner. He dumped Ann Richards, a very popular leftist Democrat as Governor. He defeated Al Gore despite massive voter fraud on the part of Democrats. He accomplished those things by speaking to the real concerns of Americans. The Dow Jonmes Industrial average was just a hair under 4,000 when he took office. With a Republican Congress for 12 years the economy grew over 8,000 points. Hell of an accomplishment for a know nothing President. Just so you know, he and John Kerry attanded Yale at the same time. Bush had a higher GPA. Bush also graduated with an MBA from Harvard. Al Gore flunked out of two graduate programs. One was a divinity school. I guess he can join Jesse Jackson in that regard.

Your money is safe. the ausit addresses commercial loans, and Home Savings has improved and tightened their underwriting guidelines.
The dividend issue is talking about saving more of earnings and paying a smaller dividend based on those earnings. Home Savings had a few quarters where earnings were low and dividends stayed high. That is all.
If you yank your money based on this, you are a poor investor. Home Savings is,has been and will continue to be the best run financial Institution in greater Youngstown.
