REMEMBER This is a sales tax, just as in income tax, government automatically gets more income from everyone that receives more money (INCOME TAX) and spends (SALES TAX ),, also from every time a product price goes up,,,, more revenue for the government. 10 years ago, cars cost $8000,, now sell for $30,000, think of that revenue increase in sales tax. Vindy headlines just stated the big boost in AUTO sales,,, that equates to a big boost in COUNTY tax revenue.WAKE up tax payer,, time to downsize government and eliminate waste. COUNTY workers are to work instead of seeing 2 men working while 5 stand and watch,, enough is enough.

It is quite evident that those that support the ACA no longer work for a living, but are getting some entitlements from the gov., which is supplied by the working person. As far as how intelligent some OHIOANS are,, reread the article: 59% oppose the ACA and 57% oppose OBAMA,, so the advice from one that claims he is the brighter light does NOT hold a candle to the rest of us dim wits that live here and NO longer support this regime in government.Even though WILLINN claims that Ohio economy is proof,, former claims of Willinn that FRACKING will destroy OHIO air, water and economy,, now states how great it is (OHIO boosts from the fracking industry and supports) ,, which way do you want it?

If this was a true safety issue, then why would there not be a police officer assigned to watch these areas, their certainly are enough officers available that time of day from tax payers to watch school zones and then do other duties outside those times.
just like everything else the government controllers want,, money grab, do nothing to get the money,, just sit back and have the money come in,,, typical!

Prudent with their money, did you read the article and the proposed $3m spending increase? " go toward technology advancements; additional course offerings including advanced- placement classes; better security within the school system, which would include additional cameras and better lockdown measures; and expanded transportation. Did that include the maintenance of the new football stadium that was built? Canfield is a very safe place to live, but additional security doesn't solve the problem of a desperate person that just wants to cause harm. The art of teaching is NOT rocket science, remember this is a 9 month job/ yr, inside, forgiving if mistakes are made, controlled by over -done administration at all levels, but contain very little common sense. Those that teach do it by choice, just as the rest of us. Very few really do it just for the kids,, it is a career,,,, more and more students are being home taught with the computer age it will continue, so enrollment is going to keep going down, and it is the home taught students that seem to win most awards. What does that say for our system?

If my math is correct,, Canfield lost $1.2m in state funding in 2011, but the district cut $3.6M that still left a surplus of $2.4m of wasted money saved from cuts and it was deficient spending then. With the additional revenue from the development in the Canfield district in the last 8 years,, Westford community, Villa Rosa Development,, Meadows,Fox den, Tippecanoe Woods, Kings Lane, $26m on 1 home alone on Lockwood, ALL with a major tax base,,, sounds like Canfield should be having NO problem in increased revenue without a tax hike. No where does the school board say that the tax money is needed. The main need is for security, cameras, lockdowns,, to the tune of $ ?m,, ,, just that it is time for an increase since others are getting more,,,, wake up and understand,, taxpayers are tired of just giving and giving,, just so government can find ways to spend money and that is what they are searching for,,, NO real plans for the money,,, just give it to the school and they will find a way to spend it!

All about KASICH? or is it all about union benefit packages that have been borderline bankrupting the entire nation? stated:11 yrs. since additional funding,,, yea right! Does anyone believe that statement? lets consider some of the tax base in the last 11 yrs,, Westford community, Villa Rosa development,,Meadows, Fox Den, Tippecanoe Woods, Kings Lane, $26M on 1 home on Tippecanoe RD., Busing stopped, and the list goes on, No One states that the money is all gone,,, the board only states that it has been a long time and about time for more money revenue,,,, stand up against those that just want more and NO cuts in benefit packages to save,, if the board cannot seem to have any answer other than "WE NEED MORE! remove them,,, they took that job knowing they were there to straighten out the spending,,, not demanding more money to find ways to spend!

Good idea BOARDMAN! Raise taxes,, raise taxes raise taxes again,, and then go after an income tax on top of that,,, another GOVERNMENT money grab! If Boardman does not have enough money with the current tax base, then there is so much waste in government there needs to be an investigation! Also,, if this is a serious discussion to give more money to YOUNGSTOWN ( CITY of wasteful spending and declining citizens ) then it is time to replace the existing trustees! The city just received major income source from the new V&M plant, but has anyone seen where this money goes? Water service in the MCClurg area is not effected as the source is NOT Youngstown water ,, it is AQUA water, so that is not the reason,,, paying top dollar for someone like LOREE and his answer is "WE NEED MORE MONEY!",,,, TYPICALREMOVE ALL of the leaders and get some honest citizens that stop spending instead of needing more,,,

Wait a minute, so to speak. Those that state that the late comers should not have gotten a seat, and got their earlier. If the letter from Saxton (man in charge) states the doors will be open until 2pm. The guy at 1:59 with a ticket is absolutely not later than the guy that was there at 1:00 for the commencement. As was stated, if TICKETS were more plentiful than seats, then it is a school problem, but it was stated in the VINDY article,, the doors were closed at 1:45 because that was what BPD always did in the past,, poor excuse, as I stated earlier,, even at that,, the BPD could have explained that the seating was all taken, instead they held their steadfast ways:"WE DON'T HAVE TO EXPLAIN ANYTHING, WE ARE AUTHORITY! TYPICAL!

What should be a surprise, it is just another example of government control with NO common sense involved. No one knows why something is done, doors closed at 1:45 because it used to be that way,, common sense would play a factor that parents of students want to attend their graduation and the police could have accommodated even if it meant for them to assist in the seating,, but NO, they do as they feel and tough luck! The police motto : serve and protect is lost, CONTROL is the new system and the idea that WE the taxpayer pay their salaries has NO meaning. INSTEAD of police working to be controllers, try being a citizen first and work with the public and maybe police and citizen relationship will increase instead of the animosity that currently plays a factor

Seems that no one understands government practices. Just as the sequester in Federal gov. , even though airline expenses are paid for by the airlines, tickets sales, fuel taxes, they furlough off the air traffic controllers and tsa to let the public understand they need more money. Schools have money for raises, fantastic stadiums, fine arts centers, but no money to get the students to school, so they stop busing first. In summary, just as the article states: in typical gov. fashion, move money from one fund to another, they always show they need more money while millions sit in rainy day funds to be wasted on some other useless project they feel necessary, but nothing to do with increasing educational standards. They still teach the same math, science and English that were taught 20 years ago. Remember this thought: "cemeteries are full of people that the world thought we could not do without! As far as the weak link in AUSTINTOWN, what makes the trustees feel they are superior that replacement would not benefit the township!!
