Grow up and get to work. I'm sick of the whining. You have a job. If you don't like it, then move on. From what I understand there are quite a few Ph.D's looking for positions. SB5 is looking better and better!!
I'll always be optimistic about the Penguins' possibilities!!
Common sense must prevail with this SB5 issue. I am a retired public employee and even though I did get a small payout for unused sick leave, I do not believe this should be a practice to be continued. It's precisely these "unreasonable" benefits that need to be discontinued. I know many private workers who only get two weeks off each year, and those two weeks can be either sick leave or vacation/personal time.
Vacation time is intended to be used as time for rest and renewal--not time to be hoarded for extra money upon retirement. I am not supportive of any employee being financially rewarded for not using vacation time.
Wonderful project! Thank you to all the individuals who work so tirelessly to preserve and enrich our community.
Maybe having the home-town favorite will keep everyone happy, at least for a while. Best wishes, Dr. A.!
The Board has to be commended for their handling of this monumental task. Whatever their decision is, there will be those who will criticize it and express their displeasure. It's good to know that the search process is almost over. Now the fun is just beginning! Good luck to the next YSU President!!
It does seem a bit excessive to carry this on for so long over an issue that could have perhaps been settled some other way. As for his guilt or innocence, well, who knows? I'm more interested in the massive pay raise he gave himself. Illegal? Guess not. Unethical? Definitely.
Even with the open-admissions factor, many YSU students have kept pace with or exceeded peers on a national level. YSU is an incredible institution and I often feel that it does not get the praise it deserves.
Let's be fair to all four of the candidates. Opportunities have been made available for everyone interested to listen to the candidates. If the internal candidate emerges as the best qualified for YSU's needs, then so be it. But let the process evolve and not rush to judgment about which candidate is the best choice before giving due consideration to all four.
Remember, the University has to fulfill its contractual agreements with the various Unions. I don't recall any salary reductions being agreed to.
