just another day in the neighborhood, another day in the hood
whoa...to say the Repcic inadvertingly brought death to their son and him for not moving...Tommy died 20 years ago when the neighborhood was still decent. They were in no way responsible for his death, how dare you. The Repcics finally left the neighborhood years ago, forced out of the place they loved because of the violence and "ghettoizm". We also were forced to leave the surrounding neighborhood for the same reasons 15 years ago. When your kids can't ride their bikes and dodge bullets at the same time, it's time to move. The closing of South High school we believe started it all when the attendees transferred to Wilson. It was all downhill from there. Houses up for sale might have well stated EMPTY...were stripped as you stated. People who lived there were forced to move or rent out properties. Home owners care about the appearance of their homes, renters could give a chit most of the time, leaving trash and furniture everywhere, letting grass to overgrow, windows broken, etc...Landlords in my opinion need to get after the renters to keep the properties up. And landlords should be held accountable for the repairs other than abuse repairs. Someone owns vacant properties and mayor Williams needs to force landlords to keep them up to standards or be heavily fined. The cost to fix delapitated homes is close to the price to rip them down. Years ago there was a bumper sticker that said YOUNGSTOWN A WHOLE LOT OF LIVING.....NOW IT WOULD SAY...YOUNGSTOWN WHAT A HOLE..
How things have changed...17 yrs old without curfew LOL and a new twist on hide-and-go-seek. I once lived on E. Lucius not far from this shooting. The neighborhood got real dark when they closed South High. When the bullets starting flying in the middle of the street, that's when we left. Put the house up for sale. The people looking to buy it didn't even make $500.00/mo. Lost money on the sale but saved 6 lives moving from the new "lower south side".
Such a positive person !! Accidents DO happen.
Kevin Hart, 38 of youngstown. According to Tribune shot over a dozen times...Not an accident huh?? Prayers for family and friends through this and the holiday season
WE ARE THE CARDINALS, THE MIGHTY MIGHTY CARDINALS...CLASS OF 1977
How tragic. My condolences to the family and friends for their great loss. I will keep all in my prayers . GOD BLESS
You're forgetting the subject here. No number of troopers would have stopped this speeding car at that time and place. I pray for all the kids here, their families and friends. Amen
someone bought the old Kmart site, ramada Inn, KFC..anyone know who?? Being y-town and liberty were fighting over who was going own electric, personnel, etc...they should share the cost of police and open 24 hrs
i spoke to another teller in antoer post office and was told it was all a computer glitch in Akron. I don't know if it's true or not but we need that post office to reopen as promised months ago. And...a few months back on the new, it was stated twice the amount was $1,900...not $19,000...i believe the workers took nothing...after all the accusations they did, no one wants to say OOPS WE WERE WRONG
