No one with the resources to send their children elsewhere would send their kids to YPS. Virtually all the talented students of all races have left the District through open enrollment or vouchers. The only students left are those that have severe disciplinary problems, or are such poor academic performers that the neighboring districts will not take them. What Mr. Beachum stated was not racist, but simply a fact. The Parent Student Union and United Front for Educational Justice should work with Mr. Beachum and the rest of the board to try and find solutions to the problems instead of making racial accusations.
Most junior and community colleges are superior to YSU. I've hired a couple of YSU grads and they are totally unprepared to enter the workforce. It does not matter who the President is until they begin to enact some sort of admission standards.
This POS takes the cowards way out, and can't even apologize to the victims. He only wrote that he was sorry to the church. At least the victims can take solace in the fact that this molester is in a very hot place right now. I am more thankful each day that I left the Catholic Church, and removed my kids from that environment.
If people had listened to Traficant's one minute speeches while he was on the hill we wouldn't have the mess we have today. Almost everything he warned would happen has happened. Just read the specches yourself and see what I mean. I happen to respect that kind of vision, and don't need some idiotic superman wannabee calling me and coutless others morons. Show me what Tim Ryan has done for us since he was elected, nothing as far as I can tell.
Face it pot holes are a fact of life. This is especially true here in Northeast Ohio where they do salt and clear the roads. I have lived for a long time in North Dakota prior to moving back this winter, and while the pot holes are a nuisance it is much better than in ND where they don't treat the roads, and there are tons of vehicles in the ditch after each winter weather event. I agree that driving sensibly is the answer, but I would much rather dodge pot holes than roll my verhicle on untreated roads.
Seems to me that the Pastor was abusing his power, and that while the relationship may or may not have been consentual, it is clear that the Pastor was buying the woman's silence. She has come forward now that the gravy train has run out.
My heart goes out to the family, and while this is just speculation there have been cases where elderly people have been taken advatage of while suffering dementia. I agree with scrooge that personal responsibility should be exercised but sometimes there are extenuating circumstances where people are taken for a ride. If all lenders were being scrupulous we wouldn't be in the mess we are in right now. I would love to live in Canfield or Poland, but I know I cannot afford it even though I'm sure someone would have lent me money to do so in the recent past. I just don't like the idea of my tax dollars going to bail out irresponsible lenders and borrowers for their no down payment, stated income loans.
