I bought all the crappy PPVs against weak opponents and even had a $50 photo that I bought from his website in my work office until yesterday.
First of all, your family doesn't have interventions and you don't go to rehab if you're a social drinker who likes to have a good time once & a while. Secondly, he was damn fortunate to even be offered 1.35 million and a chance at another title. Yet he spurned the opportunity and based his horrible decision on incorrect info. If he would have retired after rehab I would have wished him well and fondly remembered his glories, but to pull out of another fight 4 days before it airs on Showtime, C'mon! I'm not going to even speak on your comment about my job because you have no clue what you're talking about.

He was not confident that he could beat Bute and was looking for one last big payday because the opportunities and paychecks would have gotten even smaller with another loss. No way I'm going to quit my job because I hear thru the grapevine that a guy who does the same thing I do at a different company makes more money than me.
Kelly you're not champion anymore and u think ur still a big name but you've only been in the news for the wrong reasons that last couple years. The big big money would've come if u beat Bute but your warrior spirit has deserted u and u knew that wasn't possible. There would have been a wealth of opportunities at 168 but now it looks that ur legacy will be one of the less stellar middleweight champion runs in history.

Everything I've heard from you since for the last 2+ years has been the exact opposite of the humility that endeared you to people when you were coming up. It's all been excuses and denials and until you get honest with yourself the downward spiral will continue. Forget about boxing and think about your family and the rest of your life. Take heed from Edwin Valero and other sad stories like his.
As much as the news today disappointed me, it did not surprise me one bit. Kelly, I've supported you up to now and I do hope you get your life in order, but you lost one of your biggest fans with this decision that you will come to regret. I've struggled with addiction myself so you'll get no low blows from me, but the whole bit about quitting because of the money rings as hollow as the last bell that just tolled on your career.
Way to go Kelly! Lopez was a game opponent and made it hard for u. The judges were generous in ur favor but u pushed the action, hit him with the harder shots and deserved the win. I suggest another tune up before Bute or one of the other top dogs in the division.
Very Excited to see you back in the ring, Kelly, doing what you do best -- puttin' fools to sleep! Forget about the haters and critics and take care of your own house. Stay sober and hungry and you will be a champion again. You're a top level fighter and there's not many out there that have the tools to compete with you when your on your game. I believe you can avenge your loss to Sergio at the right weight and he's #3 lb for lb right now. I'd also love to see you KO that loudmouth Froch. G

Kelly Pavlik withdraws from Saturday fight
