He has proven to be a bad cop so fire him before he forgets something else, like a child locked in a car. Why is it when a common person commits a crime the police say "ignorance of the law is no excuse" but when a trained law enforcement officer commits a crime we cut him slack? The police admit the K9 dog is a police officer yet when another cop is negligent to the point of causing the death of another police officer we slap his hand and let him continue enforcing the same laws he disregarded? This is just one reason many people have a distrust for police officers.
