My Father, William H. Dittoe, was the first Chief Engineer of MVSD and designer of the project. I grew up in the Stone House living there the first 8 years of my life from 1931 to 1939 until Dad died. He was succeeded by Luther Fawcett. The home was provided to the Chief Engineer and their family overlooking Meander Lake providing a measure of security for the public water supply. I am so happy to refresh precious memories of my early life by seeing the wonderful historical property which had also been used in the "underground railroad" many years before. My wife and I visited the home in the early '70s and I hope to be able to visit the property and the MVSD once more.
