Ex-pastor pleads to assault, gets no jail time

To "clowns_of_ytown":
Whoa there better get your facts straight! The victim NEVER visited the Giffin household once she left the Midwest...as the court record will show, Ingram's statement mentioned ONE visit, back in 2001 when she was still in the area. As others have stated, victims of this type of abuse under that kind of control feel as if they have to play the predator's game to avoid the speculation that not following the expected pattern of behavior would cause...a visit like that occurs out of obligation and fear. People could really benefit from reading a book on sexual abuse, particularly of minors to better understand and minister to victims and to better protect potential victims.

"Evidentiary issues" may speak to the quality of the work of the prosecutor's office or interpretation of the existing law, but does not at all speak to the nature of the facts of Giffin's criminal behavior. The saddest part of this whole story is that ANY statute of limitations exists for crimes against minors. Fact is there are several victims that pre-dated the brave soul who came forward and cooperated with the prosecutor's office, others whose abuse occurred after this victim. Hopefully some of those more recent victims still inside their statute will be empowered to bring charges against him and bring greater justice to all. Give it one second of thought, there is NO SELFISH MOTIVE to come forward, it only costs her, rather it is a SELFLESS act to protect others.

As for the escort, that is the recommended procedure of the victim/witness department--clearly a good practice to protect the innocent from potentially threatening/dangerous stalkers (like you apparently)! I guess the clowns of ytown (as Giffin would have smugly referred to most of the population) have identified their ring leader!

As others have stated, victims of this type of abuse under that kind of control feel as if they have to play the predator's game for fear that others will ask questions...a visit like that occurs out of obligation and fear. As for the escort, that is the recommended procedure of the victim/witness department--clearly a good practice to protect the innocent from crazy stalkers like you! I guess the clowns of ytown (as Dale would have referred to most of the population) have identified their ring leader!
