Thank you Westsider and other intelligent people commenting. There is no attack on reproductive rights. The only question is who pays for birth contol. As someone who has worked in health insurance for years, birth control pills have ALWAYS been covered for medical conditions, even if they are not covered for contraceptive purposes. AND erectile disfunction pills are limited to a few a month, regardless of medical necessity.
If the Fall 2011/2010 comparative registration went down 4.3%, and the Spring 2012/2011 comparative registration was down 3.8%, then enrollment is trending up. Eastern Gateways' success is a good thing. But they are a two-year community college, and not comparable to YSU. Those students who want a four-year degree will most likely end up at YSU eventually. It is disnegenous to blam the decrease in enrollment on professors whose salary was frozen for two years. Administration has to shoulder some of the blame for their failure to take the recommendations of their own experts, which created doubt in the minds of potential new students about the viability of the fall semester.
"However, trustees should consider the extent to which the 3.5 percent tuition increase for undergraduate and graduate students dissuaded many from attending." ANSWER - none. With annual tuition of $7,500 a year that is an increase of $260 a year. You don't know how good you have it. If there are lower cost options, than please feel free to exercise them.
Dear Bert the Turtle: Take you head out of your shell. You never miss a chance to slag off public workers. YSU professors accepted 2 years of wage freezes along with benefit reductions. Facts are tough to deal with when you have your head up your ....shell.
Tyler is 100% correct. Obama circumvented bankruptcy law to favor the UAW, and screw investors. The loss carryforward that they were allowed to keep gives them an unfair advantage over Ford, who did not take taxpayer dollars. I will never, ever buy a GM product, which is a shame for them, because it looks like they are making some pretty decent cars now, unlike the crap cars they built in the 70's, that the UAW workers puposely sabotaged, turning million of American to swear off ever buying American again. $5000 signing bonuses, paid by for the American taxpayer. Hey, Betram, where is the outrage? Or do you just save your vitriol for YSU professors?

S.C. GOPers embrace hypocrisy
Clinton was impeached and lost his law license for perjury, not for having "sex" with "that woman".

Higher ed at what cost?
YSU is the only thing keeping young adults in Youngstown. Success means getting out of Youngstown.

GM-UAW pact bodes well for the automaker’s future
You should thank New Jersey. We only get one half of our federal dollars back, last in the nation. The only thing we get from Ohio is acid rain.

YSU faculty expresses frustration with lack of movement for new pact
The administration is just stonewalling, hoping that SB5 is not overturned.
