Merger of Trumbull kennel, animal welfare league under negotiation

I would not invest one more dime in the Trumbull County Dog Kennel. It is the biggest scam ever!
My friend went to adopt a dog we saw on petfinder..urgent..blah blah blah..so we went. We were given nothing but a hard time by the volunteers there. They tried to shame and guilt us into another dog and donations. We were told we had to board the dog at a some vet clinic in Niles. We were told we had to PAY to have it vaccinated and other stuff to stay at the board ing place. We were also told we would have to pay to have it fixed before she was allowed to take it home.It was going to be about 400-500 bucks! for a $24.00 pound dog!
She told them she had her own vet and planned on taking it there. They asked who it was. OF course she told them and they proceeded to to bad mouth him! It was a nightmare! They were such whiners and kept trying to make us feel guilty. we asked to talk to the warden...she was not even there. We finally stepped outside to get away from them. We had no idea it would be this hard to save a dog. So we left.
We went to AWL, we got a very nice little shepherd mix dog. It was a pleasant experience, it was not going to cost us 500 like the pound dog thugs wanted.
My friend has a new friend named Darcy! NO hassles no headaches no guilt trips! The ladies at AWL were so nice.
I would NEVER tell anyone to go the pound after the ordeal my friend went through.
I asked my vets the told me welcome to the politics of the TC dog pound. They too can't wait for the pound to close and AWL to be in charge of the well being of dogs in the county. They are big AWL supporters!
I hope AWL gets their facility up and running soon. NO need to waste taxpayers money on the dog pound instead they should invest in AWL. I will be sending them a check today to get them closer to their goal.

Think of charitable possibilities

Well Said Mrs Pike.
the worse offenders in our areas is animal rescues. It seems like there is a new one every week. The ones that want 300-600 for a "rescued" pet are ridiculous. You can go to Angels and get a full vetted, spayed or neutered dog for $150.00! There are some shelters that are less than that like the Geagua Humane Village where fully vetted spayed or neutered dogs are $85.00. They even have special rates for senior citizens for as low as 15.00!
the worse one is the people on craiglist that beg for money to pay their vet bill where their rescue that boards dogs. All the real rescues I donate to are offended by this because they cant understand why any one would waste money boarding dogs. They all have said they have much better things to spend money on than board.
I always ask for a letter for my taxes. If they give some excuse why they don't have a 501 3c or say well we applied...or some other lame exuse. I walk away.
Sadly there are just too many con artists out there today, and far too many in animal "rescue" for profit. It is almost as if they are a "rescue broker." The internet has made it even easier. One rescue person said if I cant drive there and see it, I dont believe it.
They make it tough for the real places like the Humane Society of Colulmbiana County, Animal Charity or Animal Welfare League to get donations.
It is even harder with all the tv commericals with the big corporate animal shelters or rescues pandering for money.
As my friend in advertising says, the money they spend making and airing those tear jerking animal commercials was given to a LOCAL shelter, it would be in the tens of thousands of dollars and that is something they all could use!
Donate to your local animal shelter today!

Lariccias honored for donations of $100,000 to Animal Charity

Kimm Williams Koocher or Betty JoAnne Koocher or whatever your name is this week..its public record you changed your name
..just like the name to Cat Ladies was changed to West Side Cats.

Changing the names does not change the situation or reality of what happened.

I have been doing a lot of research about rescue groups.

Your name comes up for hoarding on numerous web sites. You are on the do not adopt lists.

You are the sociopath. Go back to the places in NY where it lists you from also.

I am truly frightend for any animal that has exposure to you.

Thank God Animal Charity exists.

I will send them a check today to keep up the humane services.

Thank you to Shelia B and Happy Cats for having the courage to tell the truth.

Expo showcases needs of animals

I have voluteered at legimate rescues and experience the heart breaks first hand. I foster and have rescued pets. I have driven hours to take a dog to a new home. I have paid vet bills to save dogs from being euthanized for just having heartworm.
I donate regularly to rescues. you are preaching to the choir.

I find your response very interesting. NO interest in volunteering ever at your west side cats based on your response.

it is what it is.

have a nice day:)

Expo showcases needs of animals

Was not that impressed with the pet expo. I think it should be more educational. People shoudl learn about why heartworm is a deadly disease and so simply to prevent.
things like that.
THe rescue groups were a bit overwhelming, I was shocked and apalled by the cat in the wheelchair, take about exploiting animals for profit. THe cat did not look that "relaxed and happy to there" to me that has to be very stressful for a cat. Then we were told who it was no shock and awe there. Cat ladies or west side cat..those zebras did not change their stripes. The should have been shut down the first time. I feel so sorry for the cat.
Maybe they will pass a law that shelters and rescues have to be inspected like restaurants and fined or closed if they are not kept clean and the animals are not properly cared for.
I wonder if the Nitro law would apply to that type of situation? I hope it does. I signed the petition and have called our senator twice.

Trumbull County kennel improves by leaps and bounds

the best improvement will be when it is closed forever..donate to the animal welfare league education and adoption center. Can't wait for that to open in Trumbull County!

Kitten found riddled with BBs, struggling to breathe

I do white sabbath
I am a responisble pet owner. All my pets are fully vaccinated, on routine heartworm or flea care from my veterinarian. All my pets are spayed or neutered, microchipped, and licensed.
When my pet gets sick, we make the appoinment and take my pet to the vet ASAP. When my dog was sick late one night, we took her to the emergency clinic on salt spring road, where she received excellent care.
I accept the lifelong responsibility for my pets. I accept that it costs money to take care of them and gladly spend it to give them the best care, the best food and care I can. I love my pets!
I am not like the low lifes who shot the kitten and dumped her.
