Mr Foxtrot , I for one did use my real name because I am not afraid to use it nor am I ashamed of it. You may think Downtown is the safest area, but unfortunately, I hope you carry a credit card and not so much cash, as you have stated you carry large amounts of cash on you. There is no safe area. at least when you are on the South Side you are aware of your surroundings and you watch out for your surroundings, since not much goes unreported in this area. Which is good. You need to know whats going on and not be oblivious to reality. In areas where they hush everything, everyone thinks its safe, is it not.. No where is safe from crime..Some people of the "lower class" can't afford a night out in the Downtown Clubs, unlike yourself. So because they don't have as much cash as yourself, they should not be denied a night out... I am not denying there is not any crime on the South Side, but I do think you should not judge people who are not as fortunate as yourself. The last time I was downtown I was bugged by a downtown homeless person for change.. Who are you to Judge people who frequent our bars. I have had Congressmen, Attorneys, Senators ,Judges, ESPN, HBO, Sports Illustrated and I have a member from England who is a member of our Club and visits 2-3 times per year. You can't judge a book by its cover...But clearly you do.. Nice talking to you ..
To Mr Foxtrot..As far as your remark about the high end bars in Downtown... Pleeease!..... There have been many fights, robberies etc in the downtown district. (as anywhere in Youngstown)But it was not made public... It was not printed in the paper or even on the news. That does not make it BETTER down there..If you like down town bars (or for that matter, you may even own one ,,,,) thats great..... don't degrade the other bars, who are struggling to make a living (many are a mile or less from downtown) just so you can look at your downtown bars through rose colored glasses...A group of the South Ave bars have been close knit for over 8 years, to raise money for local charities.. Every year they donate a large sum of money to a chosen charity . Toys for Tots and Second Harvest Bank.......Can you believe such low end dives could care enough to try and help other people in the community.. Can you also believe at the last one we were very close to 500 people (from everywhere, suburbs too) Next time you sling trash at people, maybe you should think about what you're saying FIRST. . There are alot of GOOD people who frequent South Ave Bars we are not all bad... There is alot of good in some of us.. Alot of good people come from the South Side and do still support it!!!
Man: Pavlik hit me at bar
