I don't know how my mom did it, widowed at 48 with 6 kids to raise. She got SS survivor benefits, worked 2 jobs. We had food on the table and a roof over our heads - that was it. I guess we were poor, but then again, back then not too many people had more than one tv, let alone multiple cars, cell phones, computers, etc. So maybe we didn't notice it as much.
Why would any person in Ohio consider a redistricting map drawn by someone from Illinois?and from West Chicago? If there was a contest, it should at least have been limited to Ohioans. Dems are just crying because they lost. They do the same when they are in control.
"Take-home pay cuts" sounds like the University wants the faculty to pay more into either their retirement, their health care insurance or both. Also, I thought you weren't supposed to discuss details of negotiations in the press. Although, I personally think that both sides' demands should be out there for the taxpayers to see. At any rate, a strike would not make the union faculty look very good and could very well hurt their attempt to override SB.
If parents have to give permission for the test, pay for the test, and are the only ones who receive the results of the test, why don't parents just go buy the test themselves and give it to their kids? This is NOT a job for the schools! Stick to education - and, yes, that can include education on the dangers of drug use and abuse. This is just a foot in the door to the eventual goal of mandatory random drug testing. Parents need to do their job and not give it over to the government.
We can educate, rehabilitate, and incarcerate up to a point, but we will never get everyone off drugs. We will never stop all drug abuse. At least not without giving up every last bit of freedom we have left. This is the price we pay for our liberty. Every day they chip away at it and we lose more and more. All in the name of "fixing" what is wrong with people. If we could just pass a law to prevent people from _______, all would be right with the world.
Here we go again with the government over-regulating something because SOME people abuse it. Not to mention the non-existent patient privacy due to computerized records and tracking. To investigate, charge and prosecute unscrupulous doctors who really do hand out pills like candy is too time-consuming and expensive. So all of us have to deal with being hassled when we try to get medication for a legitimate need.
You can't blame the police. The boy would probably have been speeding and running lights and stop signs even if the cops weren't chasing him. He obviously doesn't follow laws.
Amazing how this president can spout an absolute lie and no one in the media calls him on it. He says there "may simply not be the money in the coffers to do it." That is not true. The money is coming in every day from current workers FICA taxes and if SS recipients do not get their checks, it will be because this president chooses to play them as pawns in his political game. The Vindicator should do its job and look a little further into this issue, instead of just parroting democratic talking points. At least the 88 year old woman bowler had enough sense to know it is a Washington game.
