Support from Ohio leaders on US action against ISIS

I want to add a comment pertaining to knowing the threat being made by terrorists. In his movie, "Obama's America in 2016" Dinesh D'Souza did a remarkable job of graphically showing how the terrorists would form a 'United States of Islam' in the middle east and it's happening exactly how he said it would. Mr. Portman should have seen the movie. Both of D'Souza's movies made me weep for America.

Support from Ohio leaders on US action against ISIS

So Rob Portman "Considers the militants a clear threat and in some ways more dangerous". What was his first clue? Terrorists have been a "clear" threat since I can remember (WTC '93, OK City 1995, Pam Am 103 - 1988, WTC 9/11/01, Boston Marathon 2013) for starters. And this man wants to be president??? Save your time and money, Mr. Portman.

Boardman cracks down on illegal signage

This is good news to me. I think of signs as clutter unless they are professionally designed and properly displayed and even then they can be clutter. There are still Sammarone signs in Boardman which I would pick up and toss if it wasn't difficult to do in traffic.

Another serious form of clutter is abandoned properties. The owner of the property should be held responsible for maintaining and mowing under any circumstance.

I think a fine of at least $500+ is reasonable for those who litter by tossing their trash onto the street. The value of everyone's property in the neighborhood is at stake.

Keep our communities a nice place to live!!!

Mahoning elections board offers to help Youngstown with redistricting

I would strongly be in favor of moving the BOE offices to Boardman. The current location is not favorable by any stretch. Parking is a huge concern but the area surrounding the BOE leaves a lot to be desired
beginning with the landscape. Boardman is more
centrally located in the county as well.

Judge to strike down part of Ohio’s ban on gay marriage

I just read the 14th Amendment and NOWHERE does it say anything about gay marriage or even marriage. Apparently the Founding Fathers never dreamed it would come to this and assumed people would do the normal thing (men marry women). Judge Black was appointed by Obama and that tells us all we need to know. He will interpret the Constitution to suit his clients -- ignoring the will of the people. I worked hard to get the issue on the ballot to amend Ohio's Constitution to establish marriage as between one man and one woman. The issue passed with 62% of 8 million voters voting to amend. Yet, Judge Black took it upon himself to tell Ohioans they must do otherwise much like the one who appointed him.

Gays cannot procreate so they benefit from the birthing children God's way but yet live a lifestyle that is "in your face' to the same God who made it possible.

The president of a nation sets the 'tone' and this president has set an immoral tone with total disregard for the consequences. There are consequences for the 'in your face' to what God has clearly deemed as sin and all of us are reaping them. We as a nation are economically, spiritually, morally and literally bankrupt. The good news is that He is merciful --- up until now. Tomorrow -- not sure.

Mahoning County elections director offers to resign

Joyce does a great job and she should stay. We have a very important election coming up. In fact, the future of our country could depend on it. Whatever mistake she may have made, she's forgiven. Let's move forward. Like "servpro' says, "Like it never even happened".

However, we could use some fresh blood in the leadership of both parties. Politics are extremely stale in Mahoning County. We're hurting for real, honest-to-goodness inspirational leadership. As the leadership goes, so goes the party.

The attorney general and his Democratic opponent spar over voter law

Mr. Pepper is dead wrong. Voter fraud is rampant in America. A photo ID should be required in every state. Americans can't board an airplane, enter a federal building, attend some political events, or even attend campaign rallys w/o a photo ID. Voting is too important to let any Joe Blow to walk in and vote. Mr. Pepper will not get my vote.
