Ohio is behind the times on almost everything. And yes, the laws need to be changed.
I don't think the dogs died from Parvo. I unfortunately had a dog die from the virus. I purchased a dog from the Humane Society. When I brought Lexi home I knew immediately something was wrong. I had this dog for a total of 6 hours. You know what I did? I took her to the animal hospital to get checked because something didn't seem right. Unfortuntely it was too late. Any responsible person would have acted in the same manner.
What Steve did was shameful. If the dog(s) were sick then Steve should have done something about it. There is no excuse.
I think it's a shame that Liz was thrown out of the courtroom. Of course she is emotional, who wouldn't be? Her dog along with others are dead, and for no apparent reason. If Steve didn't have the money he could have asked for help, or better yet, contact the owners of the dog and ask them to come and get their dog.
Is there a petition or letter somewhere that can be signed?

GSD, Exactly....if he was so innocent then he should have taken his chances and waited for his day in court.

I don't think he should be permitted to ever own an animal again.

The laws need to be updated and the punishment greater for any individual who abuses any animal.
Let's all hope that justice is served next month.
