Schools to revisit revenue option

Bravo metz87!!!

However nobody in Columbus would want him.

The levy will probably pass if the BOE is replaced along with Kliner. They were all schooled at Enron or AIG.

Schools to revisit revenue option

dmets,
There is no problem with the quality of teachers in Austintown. The scorecard that you refere to is flawed in some areas. There social-economic factors that Austintown has that Canfield, Poland and Boardman do not have. If you factor those the score would be as good or better.

My employer as well as most everyone else's could care less about dropping and picking up thier child. Use the afterschool programs that are available. I don't think it would be hard to find 12 replacement teachers that could live with that (post a ad at or local Colleges and Universities). There are plenty of new graduates looking for work along with teachers from other districts that have been laid off.

MR_AL3X,
The information about those 12 teachers is fact. You just have to know the right people.
By the way it sounds as if you work for ALSD or another school. Shouldn't you be teaching, since you are on the taxpayers dime.

It is time for the BOE to be accountable for it's actions.

There are 12 non-resident teachers that have thier kids attending school in Austintown. The BOE does not want to address this. That alone costs the taxpayers approx. 1.73 million $$$$$$ (6k per student a year @ 5% X 12 years plus 25k for 1\2 of what it approx. cost for a teacher position that they use @ 5% for 12 years).

Maybe the IRS should look into this because they are not 1099 ing this to the goverment.

How does the BOE explain that Heuer is paid for travel expenses to Columbus (that is where he lives)?

Is that 1099ed?

I don't think that it would be hard to find a superintendent that lives in our valley!

The BOE should start by having those 12 teachers pay back lost tuition and costs plus interest. If they want thier kids to attend school in Austintown move here or go somewhere else.

What other unnecessary spending is going on behind the taxpayers backs?

dmets,
Although non-resident school teachers kid may be common in some areas, that is not the point. When the BOE asks the taxpayers for more money ever dollar must be accounted for. All perks must go. Your kids go to school where you live or pay tuition. That is why people buy homes where they can afford to live which therefore is an investment in that community. If you can't afford to live here or have some other reason to bad, that's reality. Your life choices dictate where you live and can afford.

But from what I understand, they said most of these teachers live in Canfield or Poland. So they must not realize the school district where they live are alot better. Just look at the report cards. But I think they allow their kids to go to the austintown school, cause they can not be there for there kids to get to school. Would you rather a really excellent teacher in atown have to leave and go teach somewhere else cause they can not be to school on time cause they also have children. Does not seem right to me.

dmets just SHUT UP. You have no clue what your talking about, unless you have a job in the ALSD then you know nothing. All of you are clueless and are going by rumors which is sad for all your characters.
