@ Palbubba and One_who_stayed I vowed to not post again until next year but I could not help myself after reading these two posts. The only thing I will say is that if you think that council is that bad, I wonder what you feel about the people who actually put these deals together? If you really knew what you were talking about, you would clearly understand that City Council does not negotiate nor enter into any agreements or contracts. That is a function of the Administration (Mayor, Law Director, and Finance Director) Council's role is to make sure that these deals are in the best interest of the city taxpayer and not give people sweetheart deals that make them better off and leave us worse off. So, while I can appreciate your interest in city government, I would hope that you both would attend a few of these meetings so that you too can stop being a monday morning quarterback. One last thing, all 7 memebers of council as well as the president of council are also the Ones_who_stayed.
Dave, Thanks for your response. However, my comment to Kyle was that no one on council said "no" to doing it in house. We only said bid it out to see what the best deal is. I went on to say that if out of the three bids,JAC was the best, then let them do it. So, contrary to what you wrote, my comments about "not letting us consider it" and "where we went wrong" were misplaced. P.S. You're welcome for the "brilliant" comment..lol I won't post again until next year:-)
I never go on here to post.. However, aftter reading this article, I felt the need to correct a misquote of the writer of this article. I'm not sure what meeting he attended but it was not the meeting that we had yesterday. My comments were directed towards the finance dept and not centerplate. He took a quote out of context and built a story around it. I must say it was creative and brilliant how he took my words and placed them into an arrangement suitable for his faulty reporting. See you next meeting dave. :-)
City council as a whole does not think Eric Ryan should be a deal breaker. We believe that it's important to have local affiliation but it doesn't mean these companies should be forced to keep him.
VXI parking will cost city more money

A 3-ring circus at the arena?
