Amen Westside. People outside the area have the perception violence is rampant in Y-Town. Crime is crime.. the same everywhere. Chicago cleaned up the crime within some of the largest highrise apartments and now neighborhoods are flurishing. It is great to see YSU is expanding and retrofitting buildings with latest technology. Millcreek Park and Lake Newport need some attending to but is one of the best metropark systems. I've been alot of place and not many communities are essentially build within and around a natural park. This is what he should be talking about and promoting.

While in office, he should have moved the ball forward to pave the roads and the such. Jimbos crusade for the Covelli center and a government building downtown is a token at best. It has NOTHING to do with improving the lives of indivduals within a community. I want o make my point clear that I am NOT looking for a hand out or a "what have you for me lately" from any politician current or former. I can see beyond the smoke and mirrors. My point is NOW Jimbo wants to talk and he is the worst of the worst to rep the area. He has no value to the community as a hole. Now, if he decides to truly listen to the concerns of the resisdents and gets involved at the community level then fine- talk about what you as an indivdual can contribute to improve and uplift the area and by partnering with others. Beyond that I am not interest in hearing his BS. You know the area is what it is and if you are going to live here, then what do you want to see it look like now and in the future.

I hope for a new day for Youngstown without this bafoon. The town is trying to move forward with new ideas, new industries, seeing what works for other cities, community involvement programs, and he just drags it all down. His day and time is past. He if wantsto do something- fix the darn roads. Along with Jimbo, Youngstown should be ashamed of accepting pot hole mania- an infrastructure falling apart and highly in need of updating. This is what he should talk about- no one of the forward thinking mindset could care what a criminal thinks. He is not an "indivdual" but a criminal and the babyboomers are ridiculous to see him anything but that. The green spaces on Market Street look great but they sure do not generate revue/taxes to the city. Talk about how to build up a strip leading into the downtown/Covelli Center. What about re-creating the communites within that area, neighborhoods, grocery stores, adult learning centers, after school centers, educating a workforce to compete globally. It really gets old talking about what happened in the 70's -80's and I fully understand you have to know where you've been to know where you are going. But it's 2009 and other cities have recreated themselves on a small scale and so could dedicated people who want or have no choice to stay in Y-Town. Oh yeah, and have Major Williams ease off local drivers with the many traps around this HUGH metropolis. Your citizens would be apt to spend money in a nice restrurant and have a drink instead of avoiding the speed traps and pot holes!! Let Jimbo talk about this-- better yet, do something about it! Then he'll have something to talk about.
