It seems that individual board members are issuing directives to Hathorn, which I believe is contrary to the way it should be; the board, not the individual, should issue the directive. The directive should be reviewed, discussed, and approved by the board. Yes, the board is his boss, but not the individual board member. I wonder if the school board has a policy manual that clearly delineates this scenario, if not, there should be one
nojimbo, you are right, what will the Marketing Director do, with this additional marketing person, another costly addition to the ever-growing bureaucracy, too many chiefs, not enough Indians; why does a park even need a marketing person in the first place; and gdog4766, you are also right, just like the Library and the WRTA, keep wasting money on unnecessary projects. I wonder how much money will be spent on the new marketing plan
peggygurney, i appreciate your comments, but it would be more cost efficient for the WRTA to purchase vans, than $multi-million buses to haul a couple of people from A to B, that is the problem with government, it is always overkill, rather than common sense
the WRTA is like the Library, spending millions on unnecssary/wasteful projects, when there are other local government entities like schools, who are struggling for funding; spend the millions on educating our young people, or on technology, where it will reap benefits
Kasich will continue to destroy public education, with his budget cuts to local government, while funneling money to charter schools. Ohio like the rest of the schools across the country, continue to struggle financially, as funding is reduce by state goverments. And as the schools struggle, cuts will be made and students will suffer academicallly. The USA will continue to fall behind the rest of the world as resources are reduced, the US ranks 10th overall, and ranks lower in math and science. As the State cuts funding to local districts, more of the burden will be shifted to the local tax payers, who will at some point refuse to approve tax increases, which will lead to the demise of the schools
what the pro issue 2 people really do not understand is that this is Kasich & company's first step in the elimination of the middle class in Ohio. after issue 2, then they will go after the private sector unions, then they will proceed to pass laws that will eliminate the rights and benefits of all working middle class people in Ohio, while public dollars are funneled to a select few. . The hand writing is on the wall. All these supporters of issue 2, are guilty of what's called "shooting yourself in the foot"
He has used Kelly to write again about his favorite targets. What a sad, sad piece of journalism. As others have stated, there is NO connection, whatsoever, with Kelly and the corrupt politicians.

let's look at this logically - the Trustees need to implement the Performance Audit, i.e. demonstrate to the residents that they are good managers, not just rubber stamp politicians, accepting the status quo. The Audit clearly illustrates that there is a tremendous amount of waste in the Township compared to peer communities, i.e. overpaid and overstaffed. The Township spent good money for the Audit, why put it on the self, another waste of good tax dollars. Run the Township like a business. It is unfortunate that more residents have not read the Audit, if they were to read it, then there would be more pressure for implementation. Isn't there a Business committee, who is suppose to advise the Trustees, I wonder if they read the Audit.

Why would someone even have dogs capable of such a violent act, especially with a young child in the same household; a tragedy waiting to happen
