Congratulations to George Levendis and Campbell city council for continuing to drag Campbell, Ohio, kicking and screaming into the twenty first century.
If taxation covers our needs, why has the State of Ohio had Campbell in a state of fiscal emergency for all these years? Quit dragging your feet and open your eyes. Did you have something to gain in all those years of dispair ?
Is there a light at the end of the tunnel? There were campaign promises to address our financial woes, and they are being kept. There won't be any miricales, but VanSuch, Levendis and council are doing what's nessessary and are to be congratulated.
Here we go again. Can our boy Bill think this is going to fly? It sounds like a Saturday Night Live skit. We interview three financial professionals and one hot dog vendor, and who do we nominate? He probably used to make change for the hot dogs. How come the newspaper boy is not getting a chance? When you read, in this paper, that your mayor has decided that this policeman, with no financial experience, is the best candidate, you'll know where we stand as a municipality, and why we're in the trouble we're in. Our town will continue to be a joke as long as this crap continues, and so will this mayor.
Dear ONLYINCAMPBELL, We've had this talk before. You are judged by your words. When you use incorrect grammar and punctuation, and get so excited that you run on and on, you lose credibility and people don't take you seriously. You should take notes when Ms. Rich is telling you what to say, so as to keep your rantings more concise. Remember, you are criticizing a professional journalist, you know, a person who writes for a living. Perhaps you have a seventh or eighth grade student at home who could look over your work before you submit it for the public to read. Now let me address TRUSTINTHETRUTH. Really? The high school year book? That just screams desperation. Everything else you point out is just revisiting other peoples posts. These things are not facts that you researched, just repeated gossip. They are mistakes that a young man made, admits, and has apologized for. If you were actually researching, you might have run into the case of Ms. Rich being the secretary to Sheriff Phill Chance when he was found guilty of racketeering . Of course she was unaware of his crimes, and earned and deserved her $25,000 + compensation. You would also know that Ms. Rich and her husband were charged with tax evasion to the tune of $35,000 in 1993 and 1994. No doubt a mistake on the IRS's part. Surly she is keeping a vigilant eye on Campbell's finances. I'm sure she knows that bankruptcy would not be a viable allternative, like it was for her in 2003. Had you checked the Vindictor and Sheriff Dept records you could have included these facts and made you comment more balanced. I'm just poking a little fun. I know that you're just doing your bit to support your friend Ms. Rich, and I'm sure her friend Lenny Strollo would do likewise if he could comment from prison.
Let's see, Rich is real good on the rules, Levendis thinks we should contact D and L Energy for information about capitalizing on unused city property. Aren't we in fiscal emergency? How can gathering information possibly hurt? If the EPA approves it, someone is going to get the money for that well. Let's get another committee involved to slow things down. This is just another example of Council being unresponsive to the needs of the city and it's citizens. If your 911 call is slow to be answered, it's because the police are out chasing down that sign. IT"S TIME FOR A CHANGE.
"Rumor" has it that Rich and her pal Miles can't get the job done. Thats not rumor thats a proven fact. Levedis must get the job done at work cause he'e been there twenty five plus years. In the real world they can fire you if you don't get the job done. Since he's not taking pay or insurance, it's hard to see his ulterior motive. Maybe he can't stand to see the city being embarrassed any longer. Poor leaders tell you why they can't get the job done, real leaders find a way to get it done. It's time to give someone else a chance.
Was it Mr miles or the levy that put Campbell in the black? As I said the time for excuses is over. Good leaders find a way to get past the obstacles and get the job done. There is no shame in being unable to do a job. But it would be a shame if we continue to expect the desired results from the people who have failed for years. The status quo must go. You've heard of "talking a good fight", THE TIME FOR TALKING IS OVER. It's time to fight.
It's also completely obvious who campbellcitizen is supporting. Unless The Vindicator is mistaken, the state auditor stated that Mr Miles could not do his job. He's not keeping books for a small business, he's trying to keep them for our city. He was hired to be the Financial Director. The other people you allude to work for him. If they're not helping it's up to him to see that they do. But I may not have the insight that campbellcitizen does. If he's not responsible for the financial wellbeing of Campbell, why is he on the city payroll? Does the buck stop here or not? The last mayor was no good, now the new mayor is obstructing things. It's always someone other than the Finance Director. As far as Ms Rich is concerned, unless The Vindicator is misleading us in it's council reports, she blocked the previous mayor's effort to dismiss Mr Miles. Dispite all Ms Rich's best efforts the books are not reconciled. I'm under the impression she is the chairman of the Finance Committee. Listing the reasons why they have not done their job means nothing. They both knew what needed to be done when they signed on. If they can't do it, let's find someone who can. Excuses from them or their supporters don't cut it anymore.
If trustinthetruth has nothing better to do than check on Pritchards voting record, maybe he should head down to city hall and volunteer to help on those books. If Pritchard said something untrue then call him on it. If not, call the current administration and demand a reconciliation of the books. It's this kind of stuff that makes me long for the good old Mafia days.
Will Campbell council end its health-care benefits?
