BoE should put air conditioning in AMS gymnasiums & band room. This was deemed "unnecessary" when the BoE hijacked funding from the building of AMS to build their new offices on the back of AMS.
This track is going to happen and the big reason is LOCATION! It is situated on a major national corridor. People will stop here & gamble. It is an opportunity for travelers to stop in and gamble on their way to their final destination. The PA track is not a good location & I don't see it being as viable as Austintown. Cleveland tracks have their own draw.
The casinos bring larger purses to the races & give more incentive to the racing industry. Casinos are in operation all year round while the racing industry has a season. The jobs are more stable for the casino workers.
I don't gamble & I don't favor the racing industry but I think the facility is a good fit for the area. We have plenty of locals who travel to other areas out of state to gamble, let them keep their money here in the area.
I live in Austintown on a residential lot, approx. 1/3 acre, and I have 10 hens. They are contained at the back of our property which abuts a large wooded non-developed property. Our neighbors are OK with the birds BECAUSE we keep them contained. Hens are not as noisy as dogs since they do not crow. We got the chickens because I wanted my children to see where some of their food came from and so I could teach them the importance of treating animals we use for food with dignity & respect.
A pet owner can be good or bad and the same can be said of someone who owns small livestock. I keep my two dogs in my yard or house, feed them, get them vet care & keep them licensed. They don't roam the neighborhood, bark or attack people. Small livestock if cared for by a responsible owner should not be any different than any other pet. There should be a limit on the number of livestock just like there is a limit on dogs.
Wow! I guess Jerry didn't molest those boys because no one witnessed him doing it when they were there in the shower with Jerry & the boys. Duh!
What about the fact that 10 different young men are all accusing Jerry of doing these terrible acts? These men are not lying about this and I am sure the last place any of the victims want to be is testifying in court about the terrible actions that were perpetrated upon them by a trusted male role model.
This SOB stole those boys childhoods and he needs to go to jail forever.
I hope the proposed STEM program at Chaney will lead to improvements throughout the Youngstown school system. I think as a society we need to focus on parenting skills and support for young parents if we really want to improve the education system. Too many parents & children are being left behind because they lack life skills. Parents cannot give children what they as parents do not possess & teachers cannot success if parents are not an integral part of the process.
Note to those who have never lived anywhere else- Youngstown area is not the armpit of the world. We have great amenities, excellent health care facilities, great restaurants, cultural activities and it is affordable to raise a family here. Traffic is miniscule. Please try and expand your worldview to include something beyond navel gazing.
You are a brave person to go through all the surgeries and I am so glad you are being rewarded with better health and happiness! God Bless You and thank you for being such an inspiration to the people of Austintown! We are all richer for you and your journey!
McNally edges Brown by only 150 votes in Dem primary
If these results holdup Brown can run as an independent. Then if he can win he will not be beholden to an party machine, just his constituents!
