As I read this article and comments I have to laugh. I worked on the streets of Boardman for 10 yrs before moving to a large Ohio city and making 4x as much doing the same job that I love. Years ago there was never and shootings or stabbings in the Township where it's signs say: "A nice place to live." Now, shooting and stabbings are common. Some of my family still live in the Youngstown area and shop at the Southern Park Mall. Many old friends tell me never shop at night or during the weekend. Shop during the day only. It's because of the trash that congrigate there. I don't care what color the "trash" is, trash is trash. Becareful people. Use caution and be aware of your surroundings. I never travel home to the Youngstown area without two things. My Glock and an extra magazine.
You know, the people of the District of Columbia were idiots several years back when they re-elected Marion Barry as Mayor after police video showed him smoking crack.Seems you fine people of Youngstown are proving you are as big an idiot as the people in DC. Incidents like this remind me why I moved the heck of Mahoning County.
I'm wondering if the people that live and work in Boardman are seeing the big picture? Homes, large apartment complexes, shopping plazas as far as the eye can see, nursing homes, medical compexes, schools, and a new hospital all at risk. If a fire breaks out, you have about 8 firefighters to come to your aid. What if another emergency is going on and fire companies are tied up? There is NO WAY 8-10 firefighters a day, attepting to man 3 station can protect the people that live and work in Boardman Township. Your lives are at risk people, I hope you see that. You need to let your trustees know. Everyone of you should picket anad show up at the next trustees meeting, your lives depend on it!
