This makes no sense..." 'The deer, Graham said, “was put down as humanely as possible considering the circumstances.' " Why did it have to be put down at all? What threat did it pose to anyone? It would have found its way out eventually if left alone. Being beaten to death with a board is NOT humane and it was unnecessary. Good Lord! What is wrong with people?
maikaa32...Yes, teenagers will make mistakes...no better teacher in life than experience. However, that does not entitle you to willfully make bad choices for the sake of living a little. Safe at home? Ever hear of alcohol poisoning? Teens do die from it. Drunk driving isn't the only way alcohol can kill. I hope your parents never get a phone call in the middle of the night because you drank yourself to death and your friends were too trashed themselves to notice or they just let you lie there thinking you just need to sleep it off. Even worse for those you leave behind, you'll be remembered for how you died and not how you lived.
My blame does not lie with the police. I just feel like their response is akin to closing the barn door AFTER the cows have escaped. The fact that this guy was a fugitive, arrested and then let loose to later victimize a child is appalling. Merely stating that the there is something wrong with our justice system if this is allowed to happen.
A little too late if you ask me. It's worth noting that this creep was Fugtive of the Week 2 years ago, was arrested in his Reed Avenue home after someone tipped off the police. I don't know what came of it after that but apparently this guy has been let loose to prey on innocent victims. "Making ourselves more visible"...what a joke... how about keeping criminals like this locked up for good so they can't rape children on their way to school???
This is sad. My prayers go out the girl and her friends and family. Bad things can happen anywhere but I would have to agree with cs1234. I was raised in Campbell but have not lived there for about 25 years. I come back to visit family occassionally and while I enjoy my visits, I am thankful that I am not raising my children there. It's NOT the place it used to be and I constantly worry about my parents and siblings who are stuck there. What happened to your cousin is heartbreaking and I pray that you all get the support and healing you need to overcome this.
