Bennie's not stupid. He's milked this since last march. Sentencing isn't til january. He will have gotten 10 months time served with good food, clean sheets, and playing cards with his friends at the county jail at our expense. I'm sure his time, if any, in state prison will be minimal and he'll be out again to prey on the citizens of the northside.
The coroner's position is a "salaried" job. This means that he is paid to perform a function irrespective of the hours involved. If he wishes to be a 9-5 hourly employee, then the commissioners should demand that he punch a time clock.
