Not for locals, really? Perhaps you better drive 422 & Salt Springs and take a look. Shale boom has provided many jobs directly & indirectly be it either as a full time employee, a contractor or as someone who provides a service such as delivery of lunch, equipment or whatever. Those jobs were available to locals. All they had to do is get off their butts and apply. To say that they haven't helped the area is crazy. If you cannot see the affluence you have be wearing blinders.

Sour Grapes. Karen Hardin will have to find someone else to pay her bills. The workers of Vallourec won't be doing it.

As a Vallouric employee I can tell you that a Union is not needed and that I will be voting No!

Dave & Bill are indeed correct when they say some things have changed and been taken away but It is like that everywhere. The business model has changed and Vallourec has changed along with it. They also fail to mention that while the Sunday premium pay was dropped it was in exchange for the 4 on - 4 off, 12 hour day schedule that they all wanted. One got traded for the other. It wasn't just taken away without anything in return. Everything that Karen Hardin stated was false and goes to show that they'll say anything to get the workers of Vallourec to provide them with a paycheck.

This Union and the very thought that we need them are both jokes. I bust my butt in that mill and I have no desire to hand my hard earned money over to some lazy union fat cat. We do not need them! Vallourec is one of the best jobs in the area if not the best, period. We are well paid, have excellent benefits, alot of vacation, 401k, bonuses & many other perks. I have no idea what these pro union people are thinking or what they think is going to happen? Maybe they forgot how good they have it after all their years at Star. Their hard work helped put Vallourec where it is at today, not the Union. VOTE NO!!!
