@vinglass - doesn't seem like The Av closed out of spite. The owner is missing...and suspiciously at that. Maybe the $10 people spent on online gift certificates were not exactly part of their grand plan to screw people...pretty sure they purchased The Av to make it better. The bigger picture here is that the owner is missing and a family is hurting.
In case anyone is on the fence... We have a detective working on a robbery case for us, when the robbery took place he was on vacation. One week he called us. 3 weeks later we are still getting zero calls returned from him regarding the case. Today we are told 'sorry he is on vacation.' MUST BE NICE to get all of this vacation time, completely ignore your cases, tell us you have a heavy work load....then ask people to vote for your future pay, retirement and healthcare.
Its a shame that the Youngstown Police are grouped in with the great teachers and brave firefighters. They haven't exactly proven much recently. Have they given up on the missing Avalon Gardens owner? Have they had presence in the community in order to help prevent the 3 shootings in one week...and the 3 murder trials that recently were in the media? They are corrupt and inept...I'm sure they can dig in their pockets for this one....
@Stan...the YPD has not yet requested the help of the FBI. It has been a month. They are not doing much to find leads or help. It's a true shame that they are grouped in with teachers and fireman for the SB5....they have most certainly lost my vote!
why do people think that these dogs were dogs for people to see?!!? What is so hard to understand about the dogs going to the bathroom in the house, hence the saturated floors and deplorable conditions. CLEARLY they were not letting the dogs out. The neighbors cannot see dogs that are not outside! These 2 'adults' should be in jail...there is no excuse for acting like that.
My intention is not to start arguments here. However, I pass this house 2 times a day or more. I would have never ever guessed or suspected anything. Clearly the neighbors are not to blame, they did not cause this. Looking at the pictures I would deduce an elderly couple lives there that can no longer keep up with their landscaping. Something that is also fairly obvious is that they were not letting their dogs out due to the floor saturated with feces and urine. So my question is: how would the neighbors see the neglect if the dogs took care of their business indoors? Any grown adult living in this situation deserves more than a misdemeanor. They need to pay to have this house destroyed and rebuilt...they also do not deserve the right to have children or pets. Money is tight for everyone....however it costs nothing but time to let a dog outside, bath your children...etc. When your unemployed and/or working at home, how do you not have the time to handle these small, everyday tasks? Money is tight for me....I bathe, clean my house, feed my pets and take care of a house, children and parents. Neglect is the call here period...on the adults living in the house.
Avalon Gardens contents auctioned off this morning
why on earth would a pizza restaurant offer $100 gift cards?! that would be 10 pizzas.
think about that and get your facts straight.

Man’s disappearance baffles family, police
