$2400.00/yr rates?? Businesses should be lined up to relocate here!!
On the prison tip, yep, let all the pigs wallow at the biggest profit-maker out there: the prison industry. Let's just keep locking up non-violent drug offenders on the taxpayers' dime, make a profit on human chattel, and NOT reform our unreal drug laws. The WOD fails miserably, but ther's too much money being made on it for any meaningful changes or reforms. There I go, dreaming again.
Why change anything when all the govt has to do is scare us with WOD or WOT to get everyone to keep ponying up them dollars..... how sad.

Yep, we all know the equation, and the knives/boxcutter yells "professional shoplifter" but the way things go, he'll claim they were for his babymama and someone, in this season of giving, will give him/them money, a house, a nice car, etc, etc, while others like me hate having to get foodstamps and benefits but have been trying to find honest work for quite some time and do not steal, even if I am hungry and thought I could rationalize/legitimize it.
Still too proud to beg, still too many morals to steal. What's one to do nowadays?

NancyB quit your scamming bullsh*t. Everyone knows where help is of a legal sort but EVERY article about this stuff winds up with your cookie cutter post! Enough already!
The rest o ya: NY isn't the big H corridor, Detroit and Chicago is where most of the valley's heroin comes from. This makes a dent, but it's only temporarily stopping one of 20 rings selling in Ytown!

Yes, several of you raise the interesting point of him being arrested while out on bond on other charges. ANY of us without a family judge in the tree would have been held without bond after it was revoked for the new arrest. I seriously doubt we will see his bond (old or new) revoked due to the nepotism involved. Nice...

Auntiem: I seriously doubt anyone in the whole dellick family tree reads the online Vindy or the comments posted. If they did, we would all probably get our accounts yanked/edited/etc/brought up on charges due to her being a judge and wielding that kind of "boss hawg" small-town power in the valley.... irony or sarcasm, you call it.

Nobody cares what I think, BUT every judge in the US should serve at least 72 hours in their jails incognito. Every "hard time" advocate should do the same.
Judges kid? If he goes to jail or prison, his family will provide him enough monies for commissary goodies to have a pretty easy stretch. He won't learn anything except how better to get away with other crimes.

ytowntomg: You cannot legitimately buy ANY alcohol or tobacco products with food stamp benefits, nor other things like aspirin, multivitamins, etc. There are very few eating lobster from their EBT benefits, and the last I read, it was estimated that 1% of recipients were gaming the system. Seems unrealistically low to me, but try living like that even temporarily and you'll find a lot more to "grind" over. And, oh yeah, I'll cling on to this luxurious life on the government dole, it's such a treat compared to having a real job and life like I used to. Some, perhaps a lot receiving these benefits like myself, would gladly hand them back to be able to work again like I used to. But then again, I don't represent the 1% of these or those.

It's unfortunate that people want to make this a political manner????? Are you serious?? This is just one of many examples of how politically-corrupt the justice systems in Mahoning and Trumbull county are. As someone who is a direct victim of the corruption, I feel this is an almost entirely political issue. How much was the judge able to protect her son in the past? Who knows, but an awful lot of people get screwed because the judge/DA/country-club cronyism that goes on there.

Yeh, everyone bitchin n moanin about us spying/eavesdropping on other countries... Israel wrote the book with their spying on us for decades now!

Couldn't agree more. Seems like our in"justice system" is really good at inventing charges to throw at the people who pay their salaries in blatant money grabs. How many times have you seen in the Vindy a pure accident and some motorist winds up in a ditch or etc and there's the old "failure to control" and sometimes a few other charges-in cases of pure accidents.
Also, you know as well as I that the cops are above the law. A few years ago, either the state or feds passed something about persons with any history of domestic violence-without convictions-being not allowed to either (can't 'member which) posses or carry concealed handguns. If they applied it equally to cops, how many should have lost their jobs due to not being able to have the main tool of their trade. I'm betting none did. Anywhere in the state. Just throwing an example out there....
