Bertram, maybe you should put a word in to your bosses at Vindy, to change the home page. Let me show you what the Vindy's home page displays as links: News, Local News, & Regional
Your are very right, people need to complain. As I said, we have a lot of problems.
But I can not agree with you that anything the people running Youngstown do is a complete waste of time and money.
No, Sporting events are not going to fix all of Youngstown's problem, but sporting events that bring close to 10,000 people to spend money at our hotels, restaurants, bars, and other establishments are a hell of a start and provide much needed revenue.
To Youngstown_Strong's "amidst all of his blogging & facebooking" comment: I'm sure Tim Ryan checks his Facebook to keep in touch with constituents (which is a GOOD thing), but do you think he sits there on the computer all day? Of course not, he has a staffer dedicated to online communications. I love the fact that the Congressman has a Facebook and a blog that updates us on what he is doing in Washington. If all politicians did that we would be a lot better off.
Boardmanneedschange, I think you are the one that needs change, at least towards your attitude about the people running the city of Youngstown. Obviously we face a lot of problems in our city. But you say, "if you hand money over to those idiots to "plan" anything, it will be a complete waste of time and money", you must have been busy typing that post this weekend when 7,500 people were packed into the City of Youngstown's Chevrolet Centre which received acclaim from media across the globe.
Drink you beverages half full people, not half empty.

Ryan tapped for top panel
Why wouldn't you want your representative in the House of Representatives to be on a powerful committee? This is great news for the Valley.

Ryan tapped for top panel
Great job, Tim!
palbubba, really? I am so sick of the weird rumor that Tim Ryan dates Nancy Pelosi's daughter.
Nancy Pelosi has four daughters:
Christine, who is married to filmmaker Peter Kaufman.
Alexandra, who is married to journalist Michiel Vos.
Jacqueline, who is married to Michael Terence Kenneally.
Nancy Corrine, who is married to Theodore Jeffrey Prowda.
