Lordstown union leaders upbeat despite slow sales

boardmanneedschange-I think about people like you and laugh every time I clock in at GM. Go ahead, vent your frustration on this forum, if that makes you feel better. No one gives a rat's ass about you or your comments. Greed? Laziness? Corruption? Nepotism? etc. It's been the way of the world since the dawn of man. Funny how almost all the people at the top of the food chain, from Bank CEO's to Congress to the President possess those traits. But go ahead condemn middle class, working men for it...idiot.

Economy, geography force many Poland businesses to close

Youngstownshrimp: I moved to Poland from out of state over 2 years ago. For 9 mos. I drove around with out-of-state plates, and a burned out tail light and was not once followed, pulled over, or looked at by the Police. My car windows were tinted dark and I worked night shift so I came home after midnight every night with no problems. So I was an outsider for 9 mos. and never experienced anything like you say. Poland is a bedroom community and as far as I can tell, it always has been, so really no businees is going very draw to many out-of-area shoppers unless they offer something unique. Also, you couldn't pay me to drive down 224 through Boardman on a Friday night or Saturday afternoon. Too much traffic. Perhaps your "restaurant" would do better there.

Boardman man arrested after police find concealed weapons

This guy contributes nothing to society. He's a waste of flesh, just like all the other drug dealers, child molesters, murderers, etc. We can only hope that he and all the other thugs either find help or do themselves in before any innocent people are hurt.

Poland zoning decision delayed

Build them somewhere else. I bought a house here because it is a single-family, residential neighborhood. I have two young children who will attend Union Elementary, less than a block away from the proposed site. We don't need a transient community that close to an elementary school. That's just a bad idea and irresponsible. The owner's bought the land knowing it was single-family. Now they're trying to cash out and the only way they can make money on it is to sell it to someone who wants to build apartments. These people have no vested interest in this community, and certainly not in a group of hypothetical future residents, they just want to turn a fast buck at the community's expense.

Decision delayed three weeks on Poland apartments

Foxtrot: You're obviously not from this area and/or you have a vested interest in the building of the apartments. True, it's not a matter of what the citizens want, it's a matter of whether it's lawful. Well, guess what. It's not. That's why they're requesting a zoning change. The citizens of Poland Village will fight this tooth and nail. Stop wasting your time and money.
