If anyone is interested in the facts and also how your tax dollars are being wasted on this guy's umpteenth appeal and proclamation of innocence. When he is so clearly not. Check it out... chilling, shocking and sobering.
Also, if that isn't enough... read about what the other brave survivor of his heinous crimes has to say about what she endured at the hands of this monster.
Then judge for yourself if he deserves yet another shot at freedom.
May Gina Tenney's soul rest in peace.

After almost 30 years in politics and he didn't know a letter was required to withdraw from the race? Sounds a bit fishy to me... and certainly NOT in the best interest of the tax payers as he claims. Baloney.

The antics of the Mahoning County Democratic Party are enough to make even the staunchest liberal, a conservative. A disgrace on every level. What a bunch of opportunistic, fame-obsessed, power-hungry crooks. Not one of them has the best interest of the community in mind. Me-me-me. That's it.

What in the world does Steve Buscemi have to do with the Ohio State Senate? A publicity stunt to the highest extreme. Is it really necessary to blatantly flaunt their wealth and connections to a community of struggling people? She's going to win regardless, why all the bells and whistles? In her interview on the news she says that by Buscemi coming here "It is a good thing for Youngstown." WHY? A good thing for Youngstown or a good thing for her? Something to think about on voting day.

Does Jim Tressel even have the qualifications to be a university president? Does he have a PHD and experience outside of athletics? I get that there is mad love for him in this community, and that is great and very understandable, but I don't get why I keep reading these comments that the university should bring HIM on of all people? Didn't he abandon YSU as well? And then later get into all kinds of trouble with some scandal? Not exactly the best choice for an academic setting that wants to be taken seriously. Think with your heads not with your hearts. Also, wouldn't it have been wise on the board's part to put a clause in his contract that you can't be actively looking for other jobs while you are starting out a new one, at least for the first year? Maybe something to think about for the future. What a bad example to the students! @lanacek I agree with you completely... This city is in the toilet, and it is embarrassing on many levels. We need to get it together and flush the corruption, devastation, and crime.

Well, I guess you were right in your prediction that he will make an impact, Vindicator. Just not the type of impact expected.

@vinglass, I agree and think you are right on the money. Totally from Antonini's canary singing.

How incompetent can they be? Asks one of the biggest, crookedest, cowardly sleazebags of all time. Ask yourself that question Sam Moffie.

I too would like to commend David Skolnick for some excellent and informative investigative journalism in the recent months. It's about time the public/voters/taxpayers are informed of the daily dirty dealings and above-the-law carrying on of our local office holders. The Hagan's shady state endorsement pursuit, Judge Belinky and whatever whole lotta crazy is going on over there, and now Engler. The more informed we are, the more power we have to eliminate these criminals from our community or at least hold them accountable. Now lets only hope that the Vindicator presses further to have the Oakhill documents unsealed for public view that the Don Cafaro himself and his family requested to have sealed for "privacy reasons." Gimme a break, we deserve to know! It is our right. Youngstown is an American city, not a Sicilian or Russian one, right? Thanks David for not falling into the fear trap, or the look-the-other way attitude so many in our city fall victim to.
