Judge Belinky resigns from Mahoning County Probate Court

Yup, another black eye for this valley but he helped my family many times over along with tons of people I know.

He talked to you like he was your neighbor.

I learned from my wise grandparents many years ago to NEVER kick a man when he is down nor to point a finger (when you point one finger at someone three fingers point back at you.......).

Mill Creek MetroParks chief retires

Again a comment from someone who has ZERO knowledge of the situation. Typical mentality of some folks....

I know a few of the board members who told me that Mr. Johnson had intended to stay here for 5 years but his wife could not find comparable employment in this area. He does still have some unused vacation time.

Learn the facts before your mouth fires off! Your comments were not very nice. Amazing how unkind some people can be. Guess they will have their day when they arrive at the Pearly Gates.

UPDATED | Johnson leaving MetroParks; Vindy request for information denied

It seems that the people with negative comments (the people without jobs who have tons of idle time on their hands) come back from cashing their Welfare checks then have to make negative comments about something they know nothing about.

I met the director in January of this year when he spoke to our organization and he told me that he would head back to Wisconsin once the master plan was in place which was supposed to be this summer.

He seemed to be a great guy and spoke highly of our valley and its citizens.

Residents fear fracking on former Idora land

I apologize but because I know some of the board I am very upset with some of the public's reaction.

They b*tched about digging at the McGuffey Preserve in July and it wasn't even on Mill Creek Park property. Now they are complaining about something in Idora Park which is AGAIN NOT ON MILL CREEK PARK PROPERTY!

Again I am sorry and now I am done with this site.

Residents fear fracking on former Idora land

From what I was just told the strategic plan is the "playbook" regarding who works under whom, what the goals of each dept are, fundraising, financials but nothing about fracking.

Too bad most of the comments are by one person who has WAY too much time on his hands. He is trying to worm his way out of calling the commissioners cockroaches and rats. I am contacting the Vindicator to ask that his ignorant comment be removed.

Unlike the author of most of the comments, I have a job and am not wasting any more of my time on this site.

I know a few of the board members. They were meeting last night to discuss the 200 page draft of the strategic plan that is being formulated. They were there for several hours working on this necessary plan.

For someone to call these folks "cockroaches and rats" is ignorant at the least. They work many hours AT NO PAY OR COMPENSATION besides their regular jobs to run the park.

Attend their monthly meetings if you have any comments. Their next meeting is, I think, next week. Check the paper.

IRS puts lien for $32K on Judge Belinky’s house

RepublicanRick---since your post came thru, I called and spoke with two of the MCP board members. I have been at enough meetings that we all sort of know each other.

Regarding benefits for park employees, they went thru a "bidding war" with 8 companies for benefits and have the same package as last year with less park expense. Employees have absorbed a bit more of the deductible. Contracts with both unions (police and staff) were three year with NO increases in wages/benefits. Not sure where you got your information about retiree's getting benefits but unless part timers buy them at 100% of their expense, the park does NOT pay one dime for this.

I have been visiting the parks (either Mill Creek or Yellow Creek) for 40+ years.....I am early 50s.....and the park and golf course are in the best shape I have ever seen. This board, if they keep their arrows straight, will be legendary. Ironically time to leave the office early to stroll thru the park.....

Falconeddy.......for some idiotic reason I wasted some of my time and read nearly all of your 200+ responses.

I guess I found that there IS another God.....someone who knows it ALL. You used the word "stupid" countless times. Realized that this site represents an extremely small percentage of the area and luckily don't all have similar opinions and views. Don't need to spend time dealing with such negativism and people that don't have anything good to say.......

RepublicRick---agree with you about lawyers (remember the joke......what is so bad about a busload of lawyers going over a cliff?.....two empty seats) but this board is decent. Remember that four of the current board members were NOT in place when the previous idiot director was let go. I asked one of them at a meeting last year about it. I was told that "it was cheaper to just pay the severance rather than get into a long court battle and p*ssing match".

Again someone comments without knowledge of the situation. Belinky is NOT on the board, has no authority to run the park and makes no decisions other than whom to appoint. So there are NOT three lawyers on the board. People were appointed based on geography and background. Several board members are business owners and the park is a business.

MCP is in the best hands it has been in MANY years. Maybe you should attend one of their meetings. I do frequently and it is very refreshing to see what is happening with this gem in our community. The new director personally has handed out his card to those of us in attendance and has met with us almost the next day. Our concerns are being addressed.

Do your homework before you comment.
