I fought to defeat SB5 because I believe Americans have the right to collectively bargain. Now that this right has been protected in Ohio, Unions have to conduct themselves in a responsible manner. The tax payer needs a break, no one is losing their job - Someone is losing control of something they would like to keep. The right to hire and enrich a select few at the expense of a whole Community. There are many such examples in Trumbull County of wasted tax dollars. McDonald's Police, Fire and EMS services comes to mind as well as the entire McDonald School District. We can combine many many Services here in the County to free up money for Job creation, will we take this new road or will we be back in a few years to try to defeat another SB5 like bill and if we have to - how many Non-Union members will return to help? The defeat of SB5 was not a mandate for Unions to thumb their noses at compromise - failure to do so will result in decreased support among non-union members.
Extreme is Extreme be it from the Left or Right : when did America become so Partisan? For THIS against THAT ! When did we surrender ourselves to ABSOLUTES !

Ryan said the creation of a main campus would fall in line with the demands of ACTION, a faith-based community organization that has been pushing for the establishment of a central, comprehensive community college campus. What Mr. Ryan left out was his press release used language from documents ACTION delivered to his office, also the Gov and Chancellor should reconize that their initial model of scattered sites and classrooms woefully failed the residents of the Valley. "We are investing in People not buildings..." was Mr. Fingerhut's mantra during the initial grand opening of Eastern Gateway Community College. It was the residents of the Valley who collected 4,000 signatures and delivered them to Mr. Fingerhut which moved this issue forward, the Gov, Mr. Ryan and the Chancellor should acknowledge this. Now the Valley must ensure that this is not a pre-election ploy we must remain vigilant and insist the funds be deposited into an escrow account as soon as they become available.
Warren is doomed, with O'Brien has Mayor, Novak's inability to lead the Finance Committee and Dean's tax and spend menatality. Warren is doomed without Crouse's Independent out of the box thinking.
H. Rucker must step forward and pressure this Mayor. Mourn has to play catch up and stop following, Flask should stop following Dean in every misstep Dean makes and Mr. Dippolitio has to wake up, literally.
New members of Council must be the force that the Voters require them to be, or they also will be one termers.
Change this City, or the Voters will change it. We are organizing at the Grassroots level in vast numbers, it takes time. Time Warren does not have.
Voters prepare for 2010 and 2012. Recruit new Canidates and Change Warren.
"... A program that recognizes leaders from state, city and county government who made a notable positive impact on their community or state."
1.) Chose leaders who instill confidence and lead by making tough choices. OB is incompetent; our Mayor must begin to re-organize Warren, "NOW!!"
"...praises Williams for being the driving force behind the Youngstown 2010 development plan, approved five years ago as an effort to accept its declining population and work to properly redevelop neighborhoods."
2.) ) Plan, the Youngstown 2010 Plan is a real economic redevelopment plan, unlike the "PoggeyMayor" plan which is a "HodgePodge" of "MishMash" with no real direction for Warren.
Warren needs Real Change, the type of Change the Voters began with voting Sue Hartman out of Office, and today Warren City Voters have the opportunity to continue this change in the 4th and 6th Wards, the 3rd Ward will change hands due to A. Barkley's resignation. Also B. Dean should be sent packing and D. Sferra installed in the at-large position. With these changes Warren Voters will have sent a 50% Salvo across the Bows of the Trumbull County Democratic Party and Party Politics as usual.
Change has begun in Warren; it is incumbent upon the Voters to insure that all new Candidates are made aware of Their Role on Council, which is to affect REAL CHANGE in the way Warren is RUN.
Unfortunately Timothy if you look at America's infrastructure and how we lag in education compared to the rest of the world, WE ARE ALREADY a Third World Country.

Williams chosen a Public Official of the Year
What can Warren learn from Youngstown?
