I agree 100% - Youngstown City should be ashamed of themselves for not aggressively investigating a missing child- regardless of age ( a minor is a minor)!!!!! I've followed this story since it first became news, the story was never a top story and it never was made important to the media!!! It is possible if the media would have made it a little more important maybe more of the community would have been involved with the search as opposed to expecting our police department to do their jobs... :-) It seems like our politicians are happy to take our tax dollars but when it comes to issues like homicides, missing children, burglary and ect.in the city they become very relaxed in making attempts to solve those cases.
My nephew was killed last year this time - a basic investigation was performed and unfortunately his murder is still on out on OUR streets. Names were given to the detective to follow up with and it was never done. Why is this allowed????
The city talks about solving crimes, making things better in our neighborhoods but the truth is that things are only getting worse. My heart and prayers goes out to this family during this time....it is not easy losing a loved one for absolutely no reason. Something needs to be done- we must "as a community" start putting pressure on our politicians to do the right things and if they can not administrate, manage and control our city then they may need to look for employment elsewhere.... we need to have people in those position that "really" care about the people and care about the city........
