Don't be fooled, of course there could be a strong link, especially when it comes to someone who is mentally unstable such as this guy. It is not known what he or others could have thought or believed due to distorted thinking, what their warped frame of reference is and how they might react to those irresponsible statements made by others!!!
First of all, I don't think it's fair to blame the teachers for the district's academic emergency status. In my opinion, the majority of this is due to those many parents in the district who do not give a sh-- about their child's education and do not care enough to help their children with homework or make sure they are studying or even completing assignments! The teachers and administrators can only do so much and will continue to fail if they do not receive help and support from the parents!!! I'm sure it is not easy to teach in those buildings when learning/education is really the last thing that many of those kids or parents are interested in...
justonevoice- I believe North Side Medical Center is also a non-profit hospital- he was probably transferred because St. E's is more appropriate for more serious level traumas than North Side. Also, if he is 18, he wouldn't be eligible for Medicaid, unless he has custody of children or is disabled. Therefore, St. E's is only "paying" for the bill by charging those with insurance higher rates, etc., but in the end, the actual taxpayers are ultimately the ones paying for it.

....politicians (and others) need to be careful about how and what they say these days about other folks, groups, etc.
