I really look forward to this book about nursing homes because my opinion of most is that they are abysmal snake pits. This opinion is formed by speaking with folks who have been residents and folks who have been employees. Would love to know the ones the letter writer/author considers good or even acceptable.
In the past I have sent $$ to Animal Charity. Now I just cannot do that. A family member called numerous times trying to report a neglected animal and the calls were never returned to obtain any information. Jean Kelty (whom we had met there) must be absolutely rolling at how her place has turned out.
Nice thought, Jake, but if the carrier is not delivering anything to your house on the day you put the letters out, he/she is not obligated to pick them up from your house. Just don't wait until the last minute to put out anything with a deadline, as you may miss that deadline. Our family learned this the hard way.
Our street has a cul-de-sac at one end and a barrier at the other. No one got out of here on Saturday without 4-wheel drive. At 7:30 a.m. on Sunday a ROAD GRADER arrived to plow this street. What a mess. Thank heaven for cooperative neighbors and snowblowers. I'll bet Castle Court did not have to wait that long to be plowed out and I'll bet they did a much better job there.
TheLostPatrol is so correct. Back in the 1930s a relative of mine took the test to become a fireman, but had to pass on accepting the job because he did not have the $600 or so it would have cost him.
A school teacher friend applied for a job in Campbell (again, long ago) and was approached for a "donation." He turned down the job.
Seems we have had pay-to-play (work) for a very long time in this area.
Quaker Steak & Lube continued to expand in 2011 by opening eight new restaurants
If you want a lot of food at a cheaper price, try Cracker Barrel.

South Side couple robbed, terrorized in home invasion
Should we point out that North Garland Avenue is on the EAST side and not the South Side?

Man robbed at YSU
Does anyone else remember that a professor was stabbed in that same parking deck some years back?

There are good and bad nursing homes; be alert, ask questions

No, the kitten that was rescued in Austintown didn’t have nine lives
I suspect Dr. Jean Kelty who started Animal Charity way-back-when is now rolling in her grave at what it has become.

I love Sheriff Joe and have long been a big fan of his. Wish we had someone like him here.

Tell us about your streets! How did the plowers do?
