Yeah at 18 kids are immature but so are people when they're 21... age shouldn't define a persons maturity level. Where do we get our money?.. WE HAVE JOBS WE EARN OUR MONEY! and yeah alcohol is very cheap at these bars. You go to mickeys and get drinks for $1 and they aren't much more expensive at pal joeys, especially when the police officer is slapping a wrist band on you.

I just wish people would look into things more. I wish that they would see all sides of the story before coming to such a negative conclusion, its really not fair, people need to be a little more optimistic .

My generation, makes me sick.. well a majority of it. I remember being so naive the first days of high school and my first high school party seeing people drinking and doing drugs.. i just always thought it was something that happened elsewhere, not to people i know and look up to. It honestly kills me too look back at the friends i had in middle school to only see them in jail, have a bad record, drug addicts, alcoholics, drug dealers, and sad to say dead. It's sad when you're just eighteen years old and have had to witness your friends die because of things such as drugs and alcohol. It's sad to see people who used to be your friends walk into school with a baby or a baby bump on their stomach. It's sad to say that if my generation doesn't shape up we wont be one to be positively remembered. I've always tried to fall out of the negative characters and into the better ones. Sure i'm underage and drink, but i've learned my lesson through others not to drive. Fortunately drugs never came around me too much i've had my scares with them also. I sometimes see where i think im invisible and the world can't stop me after i look back at situations. But everybody thinks like that when we're wrong. I hate the negative aspects of my generation but I also believe that we are going to be one to remember and I hope in a positive way. I just think that some people really need to realize what they have, fortunately I do. Others dont have it so easy and use that as an excuse. And in no way have I ever had it easy i've fought for what i've become and all that I have, I just wish the people in my generation didn't have mommy and daddy hand them everything and try and protect them from anybody and everybody. Parents need to let their kids out into the real world and only HELP them deal with their problems not take care of them.

lombardo, im not really sure where you're from in the area but i've grown up living at most ten minutes away from pal joeys whether it be off of midlothian or south avenue, it really isn't as dangerous and terrible as you make it seem i live in a very relaxed neighborhood where it is peaceful i'm a young woman and I am not afraid to walk around my house. Its sad to see that youngstown is going down hill and maybe instead of complaining about it you should do something about . maybe we shouldnt blame the mayor... it is OUR city too. Really looks like we're all real easy to pass the blame on somebody else. And no I say that cory is not a thug because he actually is a good kid, he just made a mistake, we all do nobody's perfect. I should have never even brought up the fact that he's white, race is such a terrible thing to base it on. I say Cory is not a thug simply because he's always kept out of trouble, he's not usually a trouble maker he made one mistake and everybody in society is on his back. What if every time you did something wrong everybody jumped on your back? ya maybe his mistake was big but he did pay a price already a fear that he wouldn't make it alive, I highly doubt every one of you have ever felt that. Because his one mistake his WHOLE life is going to be effected, could you imagine a permanent mark on your life at the age of 18. I know that its a consequence for his actions but really it will follow him forever, it will ALWAYS be in the back of his head, because he IS a very good person. all in all he does have a lot of support this will be a hard time for him but he's a strong young man mentally and physically and i believe he can get through it all and even if he is wrong to a certain extent, he should be kept in peoples prayers because like the police officer he too needs support in dealing with the rest of his life.

All i'm saying is yes cory was wrong, but also so was the cop. I do see both sides of the story but I cant help but see a few lies and cracks in the story of the cop. I have a few friends that were taken in for statements and told the police what they saw. Not one of them was a friend of Cory. None of them saw the police officer actually be hit (Could have been their location), yes they saw him dragged a few feet but never up on the car. I'm completely aware that it is never alright to be disrespectful to a police officer, that is how my family raised me. I do have a member of my family that is a part of the Howland police department and I was very uneasy and went to him about the situation. He explained that the officer was probably in a panic, which he should have been, but they are taught other ways than to pull the trigger, but most likely he will not be in trouble for pulling the trigger. I may have most of my feelings because i personally know Cory but I assure you would feel the same as me. Yes i'm very disappointed in the whole situation, and I hope that everybody learned from it. Yes, I probably should not have called the officer a moron but honestly i just feel very uneasy about him, i'm not so sure why. For people to say he should have been killed, that is way too harsh... that's honestly like me saying the officer should have been killed(which i would never), but you get the point. I don't appreciate being told that I'm immature and need to grow up when you clearly don't know me and the fact that i'm a hard worker and also a very bright young woman, but this has nothing to do about me so I just feel like that should all be dropped. I believe that Cory has learned his lesson and will continue to learn. He's young and has a bright future ahead of him just like the rest of us his age. I feel that you guys should probably think twice before using ignorant words about people that you do not actually know. And even though you say i'm immature, i know when to stop and look at the big picture and who i should and should not judge. So maybe you guys should take a step back think all of this over again. Hopefully when fully investigated people will be able to see all sides of the incident. Even though i frequently visit Pal Joeys that doesn't make me a dirtball douchebag or a whore, It's where we can hang out with our friends of all ages because I'm pretty sure my 21 year old friends can not get into a teen club. The fact that most of the underage drinking has to do with cops slapping wristbands on underage kids because they like them is wrong. Personally I agree with you leetorres, Pal Joeys probably should be closed down. But honestly it's sad to say if the cops are the one helping underage kids drink, nothing major's going to happen. Maybe Mayor Jay should start looking elsewhere then downtown, Youngstown really needs to crack down.

Am I really a stupid "B8%#^" ? I highly doubt that one, but you're pretty good at judging people without knowing them at all. Fact is Cory is not a thug. A thug is actually defined as a vicious ruffian, robber, or murderer... IM PRETTY SURE IF YOU KNEW CORY AT ALL YOU'D KNOW THAT THATS NOT CORY TIMMINGS! If you look up Officer Phil Chance Jr. I'm pretty sure you could find a few negative things against him. And my "theories" yeah you know the ones that I got from a YPD member.. who I currently have e-mail's from stating the whole story.. I would not open my mouth if I didn't have information to back it up. OH WAIT IM 18, that means I'm stupid i guess? chances are... I will probably make it farther in life than most of you who do nothing but sit on vindy.com and make posts constantly.

maxi:

thank you for proving a point that all of you are bias. You probably would go call me a thug too because i'm young and from the Youngstown Boardman area. I believe I'm legally an adult and I live in America soo im pretty sure im allowed to have my own opinion. OH NO! I do not share the same opinion of all of you... so that means i should grow up? REALLY NOW? Maybe it's all of you that need to go back and re learn that there's more than one side to each story. Maybe you should do your research before making rude, IGNORANT, statements.

Did I say that Stan? No I did not think so. So do not try and put words in my mouth. I just do not understand how people plan on believing the media who changes its story every five seconds. And JME yeah such a hypocrite that's what I am because you really know me. Did I not say Cor made a bad decision? I believe I did if you could read. Cory should have listened to the officer, but guess what he didn't ... and does that deserve being shot and could've been potentially killed? NO WAY JOSE! He was put in intensive care and could have lost his life... I'm pretty sure almost losing your life is enough of a punishment. I'm positive the kid has learned his lesson, and I'm positive he's not the only kid whose ever not listened to a police officer the first time. But I'm also positive that does not give the officer the reason to pull the trigger.

What moron honestly puts a person in a head lock and then tries to turn off his car from outside the vehicle... really? Did the moron police officer actually expect the car to stop immediately, if you stick yourself in somebody's car expect to be drug a few feet. I can honestly say me being a woman i would not feel my life was in danger if I was drug ten feet (the actual distance) maybe the officer should be a man and not such a wimp. Every action has it's consequences right? Pulling the trigger of his gun? Not at all necessary, i promise. IF you want to speak about facts... lets see what the media has said. police report says he aimed at the officer with his car not that he ran him over? or wait first there was no passenger then there was? or maybe there was the description of two different vehicles? or wait then as the days went on the number of injuries Chance had started to increase? Really people, are you the freaking stupid.
