The end of campaign is near; all that remains is to vote

That's right Fair and Equal vote in Kasich who helped destroy pensions in Ohio and who has said many times free trade is good. This only helped outsourcing of our Delphi jobs.

Obama warns GOP could reverse progress

Energy costs went goofy because of speculators. It was a proven fact that they drove up the price of oil, which in turn hurt businesses.

Obama warns GOP could reverse progress

mrblue I totally agree with your comment.Following the same path we did for 8yrs. got us into this mess.I don't totally agree with the new policies but something has to be done .To let companies who shipped jobs overseas and still do business here should not be allowed.Tariffs should be placed on these corp.Giving huge tax breaks to the wealthy and to big businesses doesn't work.David Stockman who started this program conceded that companies do not reinvest all this money back into the company but into their own pockets .The Republicans had control for 6 yrs. and it didn't work.Try something new ,instead of fighting to keep your old policies in place.

Obama warns GOP could reverse progress

Skyking,is this the same Congress that passed budgets with the two wars being off-budget.Or somehow managed to increase our national debt astronomically by funding these wars by cutting taxes.Sure there are many people who have no right to collect social security and these people need to be removed. As for Rudy56 the plain dealer just showed how healthcare premiums were increased by only 1% by this plan recently while costs increased by 25% to 30%.Maybe we should just keep letting these companies do want they want since my healthcare plan has only tripled in cost over the last 10 years.Funny that was even before Obama.

When will people educate themselves on the "cutting" of medicare, instead of listening to republican rhetoric. It's the republicans who would like to cut these programs and do people forget the last administration and their cronies wanted to privatize Social Security.

Marshals arrest Aubrey Toney

You got to remember his Law abiding sister said he is innocent. We should maybe ask his dad too.I'm sure these outstanding citizens would speak highly of him.He was probably in Atlanta working at homeless shelter donating his time.Or maybe he was helping.....who am I trying to kid handcuff him and his buddies, hang them from a pole and beat them like a pinata for $10 a shot. The money can go to the police dept.for more cops on the streets to stop thugs like this.Great job by the investigators for tracking this scum down and contrary to what some idiots say, the police can't prevent and anticipate what scum like this will do next.

Two major Ohio newspapers issue endorsements in Ohio governor race

Wasn't Kasich shown how he believes in free trade. The same free trade that cost Ohio thousands and thousands of jobs. Now people want to support him after all he did and the huge bonus he took from a failing company, while many pensions were devastated. He "really" showed his concern for us here in Ohio.

Ruling on Coitsville education in dispute

Dear education voter:
please get your facts straight and do just a little research on the amount of taxes paid by Coitsville residents. Many other twps. don't pay nearly as much as we do to support the worst school district in the area.If my home was in poland twp. or canfield twp. my taxes for the school would be nearly cut in half.Just do a little research before you spout off.also if you looked into this at all a house on rt.616 in youngstown is tax appraised at less than half of a similar house in coitsville within the same country block. Therefore taxes are much greater.

Ruling on Coitsville education in dispute

I wish that the people who support this appeal would actually look at the amount of money we have to pay to Youngstown schools in taxes. We pay nearly double of what it would cost for another district. I personally pay over $ 250 a month in taxes for this district on top of my other property taxes. This is an absurd amount for the worst system in the state. Dumping money has been proven not to work in this school district.

Ruling: Coitsville can leave district

Only a few months ago, Youngstown was rated as the worst school district in the state. With that being said I am so glad that we in Coitsville will have a chance in sending our kids to a good and safe school. Also our property taxes will be reduced since we are paying nearly double to the Youngstown school system compared to what our neighbors pay to Lowellville.During the last election the Youngstown school district got a huge additional levy passed by shuttling people to the voting booths many of which were not landowners and couldn't care less since they would not be paying for it.It is amazing that the school board has the audacity to threaten to appeal an obvious proper ruling by the courts,Instead of being happy that a community can finally grow now that the black cloud of the Youngstown School System has been removed.
