Should the city of Youngstown pay up to $200,000 a year for a planning firm?

Why pay a mayor over $100,000 and pay too many part time city council members $30,000 a year, if they are not planning?

Youngstown Leadership is pathetic.

Oakhill haunts McNally

Are you slow Betram? Stating "no" to your question would have not gained any votes. The vote was purely a racial one. White people still voted for him no matter what he answered, and black people voted against him no matter what he answered. If you cannot see that, its time you find another job.

All 8 proposals for new Youngstown fire station will be tossed

A new Police station? You know the city doesnt care about the police department. They dont care about officers dropping like flies from cancer. I bet you they do care when a dead officers family sues them.

Jamael Brown gets our nod in Youngstown mayoral race

Do we need another Jay Williams to ruin the city and care only for himself? No, that is why i will not vote for Brown. Brown has accomplished very little in his career. We cannot let him ruin the progress being made by Youngstown. Shame on the the Vindy staff for this nonsense.

Chief of staff Kitchen, retired chief Hughes will run for mayor

Hughes was as dumb as they come. Only moving up ranks because he was black. He claims he had other opportunities? Did his other opportunities ever hear him speak? That is why i dont believe that.

The city does not need another Jay Williams whose only interest was himself.

Youngstown council authorizes about $225K for park, rec dept.

Wake up Triplett. Do you not remember Jay Williams hiring black members of his church who were unqualified to do the job? Do you not remember how poor the city was run under Jay Williams and his boys?

The city tries its hardest to hire black candidates but they could only do so much. They give bonus points for city residents in hopes of hiring more black people. They give study sessions in hopes of hiring black people. They eliminate better white candidates just to get to a black candidate whose further down the list. They do everything besides take the test for black people.

The only way to improve this city is to take each job opening serious and to hire the best candidate regardless of skin color. Also, stop hiring sons and other family members of current employees if they are not the most qualified.

But thats too intelligent, so we'll stick with the status quo.

Stop sending the wrong message

Delores, you are a retard, blind, or stupid ff you've only seen one patrol car on Market St in 20 years, or you live in your basement 24 hrs a day. If you stand on market for 1 hour, you will see atleast 2-3 police cruisers(depending on what time it was).

Have you ever heard of crossing guards? Police do not do crossing guard work, they are busy taking calls.

I conclude by saying that this was one of the most ignorant letters i've seen the vindy publish. Get a clue.
