This is hilarious! Austintown and Boardman residents want to become a city to terminate any affiliation with city of Youngstown-- and we all know the REAL reason why. -- What a day in hell it would be (to them) if the high-class residents in these townships stood side-by-side with the mid-to-lower class residents of Youngstown. I'm confident in my belief that if Mayor Williams proposed a plan to bring more money into Boardman and Austintown (as if they don't already get the bulk of the money that comes into the city anyway), the residents there would have no complaints. These townships have been in place longer than Jay Williams' seat in the mayor's office and now that he wants to hold them accountable, for only claiming their affiliation/connection to the city of Youngstown when it's favorable for them, they want to rise up. The residents there NEED to pay for the water they use from the city of Youngstown, they USE IT!!! It's a shame that Mayor Williams has to basically threaten them to spark some action from them and what a shame that even their actions are negative in regards to the city they are connected to, whether they wish to be or not. They want to bond together and fight to become a city instead of pulling together to unite the city that is already established. What a joke! I stand behind Mayor Williams' plan and hope that the efforts of the Austintown and Boardman residents results in a "slap in the face" to them. "Bring in money on the backs of the residents of Austintown and Boardman"-- since when did the money delegated for the city of Youngstown come out of the pockets of Boardman and Austintown residents? Don't we all (including the residents of the city of Youngstown) pay taxes? This article should be in the Saturday comics!
